Right now I am just daily driving my Xterra and finishing up my play toy. I eventually will start a build for the Xterra.

I have had this 1990 Nissan 240sx for a couple year now. I have daily drove it with 268k miles and never gave me a problem till a couple months ago when the head gasket gave out. Then I decided it was time to make some power.

Here when I first bought the car.

Then my battery light came on and I figured the alternator was going out, but it wasn't. Know I have some wire grimling causing that. So I installed a SAFC Neo. Which you splice inbetween the engine harness. You can see your throttle percent, RPM, and alt voltage.

Few months later, I noticed I needed brakes soon. So I started saving some money and upgraded to Nissan 300zx brakes. I went from a single piston caliber to a 4 piston caliber and a 8 inch rotor to a 11 inch rotor. The caliber bolts right up but I need to convert my 4 lug car to 5 lug. Which is done by using hubs from a 95-98 240sx

IMAG0179.jpg

And this is how the car was after the 5 lug swap and big brake set up
IMAG0180.jpg

Got tired of factory Nissan wheels and upgraded to some 17x10 inch wheels all the way around

I went to pull a part with some buddies and I saw a Nissan NX1600. I rushed over to the car and was hoping it had one part. The gauge cluster. A 240sx had a lame analog cluster. On the other hand the NX does not. This mod was very time consuming and just plain sucked, but looks so good.

Now we get to the last couple months. The motor build. Start with this

Add these

Plus a 268 intake and 272 exhaust with a .444 inch lift cam

Well get you this

Then add this to the mess

It will look something like this.

Looks good, love 2 tones, especially when they have triple projectors too. Don't think I have my S14 posted over here.

Drool at the turbo! Wow man. That gauge cluster looks pretty good too, I'm sure the change was well worth it.

This turbo is good for about 600hp. I really only want 400hp so I will have plenty of room to grow.

That really looks kool, and I see you are an all around Nissan fan with a juke in the driveway too.

My father has worked at the Nissan plant for a good while now so it was always Nissan cars for us. The Juke is now gone and a 2012 Maxima is in it's place.

Thanks man, I am not a big fan of triples. I would love to go to bricks lol. My very first 240sx was a 97 S14 that I did a SR swap to.

NIce build!

Thanks!

Haha, I don't really like bricks, funny how that works, I always wanted a mint green/grey two tone with a silvia front. My car had an S14 SR, but its in the process of getting a VH45 now due to a spun rod bearing (which means this whore of a chassis has gone through a KA, RB25, SR, and now VH)

Lol bump from the dead. I got bored with the project, now I am some what motivated. Really all I have to do is finish up looping the rack for the P/S delete and degrease the engine bay some more.

Got the intercooler mounted

Picked up this driveshaft. 240sx come factory with weak 2 piece driveshafts

I got super lazy with the car and had a job change, so I was always to busy to work on the car. Anyway I am more motivated today because this happened for the first time

Nice KA24E build! I used to always toss em and put in KA24DE's. I was never a SR guy though. I do miss my s13's (all pig snouts and hatches) :(

Cool build. Is this Ka really capable of 600hp though? Ive always heard of people swapping them out for about everything else under the sun.

It wouldn't surprise me. There are some dedicated single cam KA guys out there. Ever started seeing 500+ hp single cam D15's hondas... I believe almost anything is possible.

For sure, yea you will will run into problems pumping out that much power but it will take it for a good while. There are several Ka24e running 1200hp.

Here is one of them

When it first started I had a little low oil pressure for being a cold start. Did a research and found out melling oil pumps have a bad rep in my engine. So I swapped out oil pumps last night for a OEM Nissan one. It made a world of difference. On the melling I had 30psi on a cold start and on the Nissan I have 55psi on a cold start.

Now to burn off most of this 93 octane gas and switch to E85

Wow that is a hell of a difference for pressure. I liked almost everything about E85 when I ran it, but I just couldn't stand the smell. Have fun with that little beast in the making

5psi has already gotten slow feeling on the car. I can not wait till a couple more hundred miles till I turn it up to 20PSI of boost.

I love the smell of E85 burning. It does smell funky being pumped. I might add some of the R/C car nitro scent stuff to my gas like some of my buddy does with his car. His car smells like cherries going down the road lol

E85 has a bad smell burnt, not quite as bad as propane but pretty bad. If you want a nice smelling exhaust well my friend may I introduce you to Sunoco blue 112 octane...... ooo buddy I miss my old 383 what I dont miss was the $7+ per gallon and that was in 08.
