So got fed up with the OEM horn. Had some credit at autozone and found a Wolo Bad Boy there.
Cost: $39.99
Time: Less than 30min

1. Disconnect stock horn. Its between your front grill and radiator takes a 12mm. wrench to come off, 1bolt.
2. Throw horn as hard as possible or take a BFH to it and enjoy.
3. Test your connection from old cable. I had to splice and butt connect mine because it wasn't putting out enough amps. Picture below is what was messed up for me.

so i did this. Blue (+) Black (-) of course rest connection.

4. make a bracket or like me i just bent / cut the old horn bracket to fit drop the horn down enough not to hit my grill or my hood.

5. I put the bracket on the passenger side of the hook latch. I also put the negative wire there also. Again 1bolt 12mm. No i didn't mess the latching up. I checked numerous times.

6. Test horn then fasten everything up and make things look pretty. I love wire loom and tape so its always the last thing i do.

I know its a dumb write up but hey it helps sometimes. If anyone else has anything to add be my guess. Enjoy.

De chromed yours as well I see. Never understood why horns have to be bright colors loaded with decals or shiny. I have the same horn. Girlfriend thinks it sounds dumb. But, its high pitch does spark attention and pierce metal. Also no toot when you use the keyless, just a puff of a air. Which is nice for stealthy but positive lockings.

Yeah it still honks but it just clicks or puffs rather then HONK!. Do to it being a air horn and not giving it a long enough session to build up air. So it comes out as fiiiiit. When you lock your doors. I understand you could also disable it. But, then you have to look at your truck to make sure its locked. At times its hard to tell if your hazards flashed in direct sunlight.

So I read this because I was interested in the horn. Little did I know it would solve a problem of mine. Since I have owned my X it would never “honk” when I lock the truck. I hated having to go next to the X to hear the doors lock to make sure it locked. Then I stumble across the "holding lock and unlock button feature" on the fob. Went outside and problem solved :)

End of threadjack lol
