Where is the best place to ground a cb antenna? I have been having problems with my radio since I installed it (it has been tuned). I was told I most likely a grounding issue. My antenna is located on the rear right side of the truck.

I have what looks like a very similar setup. I attached mine directly to the body, But you have to sand down to bare metal...:meh: I then took my ohm meter and tested from where the antenna mounts to the bracket to negative terminal on battery and had somewhere near 1 ohm. I sanded both inside and outside the truck. But don't forget to seal it up or throw a little paint over it!

Ground as in electrical ground, or ground as in ground plane/SWR optimization?

Its very hard to optimize the ground plane with the kind of mount you have, because most of the antenna length is along the side of the rig, and, the vertical part that clears the roof is very short, and, at an off angle, etc.

If its an electrical ground, then, sure, sanding to bare metal and/or installing an added ground strap, etc, can help.
