Door handle and rear deck handle removal

Good morning Nation!
I want to paint my door handles and the rear hatch handle. My concern is about the reassembly process: how easy are they to remove and reinstall correctly? Has anyone else done this and if so, is there a write up?

Methinks it would be simper to just tape it off..

Methinks that you have to take the door panel off and take the handle off from the inside. But I may be wrong.

Don't know for certain about the hatch, but me thinks you would remove the trim panel, then undo two nuts holding the handle to the door. The handle will attach to the latch mechanism via a rod.

Hatch is the same, just checked. It should be about 30 minutes total removal time, but honestly i'd just tape it off.

Or take index cards and stick them behind what you want to paint.. That is what I did when I painted my handles

Same difference, I just dont think it'd be worth the time and trouble to take all the handles off.

My two concerns are.....if I take them off, I take the chance of them not going together properly. However, the paint process would be a lot less risky. If I leave them on, I risk overspray. Guess I'll have to flip a coin.

If masked off enough you would not have to risk over spray

Give the paint a fresh wax over spray shouldn't stick as easily then. The others are right the internal trim must come off to access the handle.
