Can you name this part?

I'm leaking antifreeze out of the hose marked with the X. Its not pouring out but leaking just enough for me to notice. I checked all the online schematics but I couldn't find it. It goes into the firewall at a coupling so it doesn't seem to bad to change, but I need to know what to get. I figure somebody will know. So, all of you wise people; what is this part? TIA

I'm guessing it has something to do with the AC

I can't believe they didn't have George...that's a travesty....but, then again, you already have George....why're you trying to replace him?

this is the closest thing I could find just doing some perusing. You could probably just go ask the nearest dealer

Thanks for the help. Its appreciated, but that isn't it. I meant to take better pictures today cause I had the one above in my computer already and I know its not the most helpful. I spent awhile looking again today but no luck. My local dealer is a no-go. I'd get more help by posting the picture on a chess forum then from them. I had to deal with them a few times during my lift install and I got the feeling since they weren't doing the work they weren't interested in helping. Anything I need that I can't get at Rock I get from Courtesy.

Its only a slight drip coming from where the x is from under the rubber cover so I'm not in dire need but I don't like to delay fixes if I can help it.

Thanks again

It starts at a coupling in the firewall on the passenger side routing around the front of the radiator to a connection behind the right side of the radiator.

so, if it's just a slight drip from under the rubber cover, pull the rubber, install a hose clamp, re-attach, tighten aforementioned hose clamp....put one on both ends of the rubber....

Looks like the high pressure line (low pressure lines are bigger in diameter).

Either way, if it's going into the coupling in the firewall, it's not leaking antifreeze, it's leaking condensation. In which case, it's not a leak.

Here's a way to tell if it's antifreeze or not, taste it. I know I know, ick. But, if it's sweet (really frickin' sweet), then it's antifreeze and has nothing to do with that line. If it just tastes like dirty water, then the condensation is normal and you're in no danger at all. Make sure the hose down below further on the firewall is clear and letting the condensation out regularly, or it can gather and spit out on top of your ECU. Don't want that.

Thanks for the reply. Take a look at what I'm actually looking at. Is it possible for this to be the lube from the a/c system. I know there is a little in there but I'm not sure of the color or quantity. Maybe a pinhole or crack in the condenser or line? This is the only spot that's wet. Weird. I hope these pictures are clear enough. :D

Ahhh, the greeen ooze. My X has that as well. My best guess is the AC. Mine line closest to the radiator was leaking last year, got that fixed, and now I have a new leak with the same color fluid and everything. Plus you can hear the "gushing" noise whenever the AC is on. It sounds like it's spewing at times.

Best of luck bud.

Yeah, it could be the oil used in the system. Does your a/c work right now? If not, your leak is around that area.

Does it feel oily? Best way to find out if it's really the oil is shine a black light on it with yellow glasses. If it glows, you're hosed. You'll have to replace the line. If you just wait, then later on down the road you'll also have to replace the dryer and if a lot of moisture gets in there, it could damage the compressor.

yeah, looks like it's coming from the one end of the rubber fitting....I say hose clamp it, clean it up, and see if it does it anymore.

I had the same color fluid leaking last year from my X and my first thought was antifreeze. Come to find out it was the high side ac hose leaking and dripping down on my steering box. Got the hose replaced and put a new dryer in at the same time and she was good to go!

x32143248 on it being AC related. I don't have a 'George' on my '01, but that is the AC condenser there, and I do have an AC line that runs in that general way (but it goes into the condenser right there)
