Backup light location

In looking for a spot for my backup lights I came up with this idea. What about putting them in the bumper corners? I was thinking of cutting a horizontal hole in each side and building a bracket so the lights fit almost flush with the cover. The bracket would secure to the body of the truck. They are piaa 1500's. My questions are has anyone done this? would they melt the plastic? Aiming?......any ideas?

Thanks for that. I knew I couldn't have been the first with the idea. There is a lot of room back there. I already know what Im going to do for a adjustable bracket. Ill definitely do a how to for us then.

Well, until I write the DIY, here you go. I still have to clean up the holes and find a gasket to put around them but I think after I bedline everything it'll look good. I'm also considering spraying one coat of tint on the lights. I have to paint the hardware too.

Thanks for the compliments. Here they are all finished up. I took a ton of pictures as I went so I could do a proper write up when I get the chance.

Yeah, much looking forward to that write up. Mainly, mounting and exact part# of lights used. That is by far the cleanest installation I've seen.....and I will copy it. Bravo!
