2002 X noise when turning left?????

2002 X, 2wd, V6, 5 spd. When I enter a left turn I hear a roaring when steering wheel is turned in that direction coming from up front. No noise when turning right or going straight. First thought was power steering pump but no noise when turning right! Ease of turning left and right is the same. Fluid level is at proper level. No vibration or other symptoms when turning left, just the noise. Tires r almost new, no signs of unusual wear. No fluid drips from engine. Roaring is the best word I could come up with, not grinding or metal to metal. I've never had to add PS fluid since I owned X. No SES lights on or codes in the computer. Any suggestions?

check your wheel bearings and your CV joints might be coming from there

sounds an awful like a wheel bearing to me.

Update......was wheel bearings left front. New both sides n back on the road.
