2002 X clutch master and slave question

I think I posted my question in the wrong place...sorry. Anyway, my 2002 X, V6, 4x2, 5 speed clutch master cyl filler cup - the fluid was a very dark blackish color. I checked both the master and slave and NO LEAKS! I sponged out the old fluid and replaced with new. I have done this a total of over 8 times. Shortlly after new fluid it turns the dark color again. I notice my clutch engages when the pedal is just off the floor, X has 125K. I know about the adjustment but the Nissan mech. said it is set where it is supposed to be. Do you think the rubber parts in the master and slave are breaking down and contaminating the fluid? Any other suggestions? Am I ready to change the master and slave? Dennis in Texas

Have you actually bled the entire system and done a full flush? Because old fluid gets brown and nasty after it ages. If you flush all the fluid and replace/bleed with new fluid in should be good.

As far as engagement point, sounds like you're right where you should be. As the clutch ages more and more the engagement point will move higher up the pedal.
