Mini how to: Quick Fists on roof rack

So I started out with these parts.





I did a test fit with the hose clamp over the dephep to know where I wanted to drill the clamp. Drilling through the clamp sucks.

I drilled out the inside of the quick fist to make the bolt fit.

And the hose clamps.



I then assembled in this order.



And voila.

nice work mac! This is useable for my gobi as well. however im afraid the bolts would rub the powder coat away now to find away to remedy that and this is a big money saver!

Thanks man, one thing I really like about this setup is I can take the house clamp off and move the quick fists how I want them.

a tad bit more money but better look is muffler clamps, i got them at home depot, they screw on and def stay put. maybe 10 bucks? i have to redo mine because they've rusted. so make sure you coat them.

Better yet get some SS ones a tad bit more money but you don't have to worry about rust.

I think I've seen someone use a muffler clamp for a CB mount maybe. I think it would definitely be a nice look. I like the low profile look and the price point of the hose clamps, but I'd bet the muffler clamp would be stronger. Good idea man.

Use a rounded head carriage bolt and put some of the felt for furniture feet over the head. BOOM! Count it!
