I added 2 Rigid Industries SRM2 LED Lights and new Otrattw switches, I'm working on a writup for the Ottrattw switches, still not sure about some of the wiring I've done, I might re-arange things a little! The cold is slowing me down on my dual battery mod and my DD (Honda XR250) died on me last week so I'm using the X more than usual, might have to wait on the dual battery mod until I get another bike for my DD, my X will be all tore apart for awhile!

I thoroughly enjoy reading you build thread. Truly awesome work done on a bare-bones model. No need to get all fancy with the OR model when an "S" can be just as badass.

How often do you put your RTT on/off your X? How much does it weigh?

I carry the spikes to stop from being followed, I've seen some strange palces and some even stranger people on the trail, nice piece of mind to have along for the trek into the unknown, they might prove useful someday? I carry 10 now and will up that to 20 when I come across more at a gunshow sometime, here's a pic:

I do still need at least one locker to keep up with the OR model, I've gotten just about everything else I want from the OR model(clutch bypass and the fold-flat front seat) I bought the bare-bones model because I wanted crank windows,(special order from another stealership) that's really the mane reason, otherwise I would have gotten the OR model I test drove!

I put the RTT on for the summer, May to August or if I plan a trip somewhere I might need it! It weighs about 130lb and takes two people to get up on the rack, it's heavy and bulky and takes a little muscle to place it without scratching up the paint!

Interesting.....I had thought of installing a small black box that I can push a button to open its door and the small nails would drop out on the road to keep the people from following me on the roadways.....but this might be a better idea....

In case anyone is looking to buy those, they're called caltrops and can be purchased fairly cheaply. They are traditionally anti-cavalry and anti-infantry devices that just happened to be the perfect thing for dealing with pneumatic tires. I don't know about the legality of such a thing; I would imagine they are illegal on any sort of public thoroughfare, be it paved highway or unpaved route through state and national parks. Just be careful how and where you use them.

great to hear your planning a write up on the switches mine are all function, i guess id like them to light up with the when i turn on the head lights but its not a huge deal, if you have a simple way to do it then great, currently the simplest way i know of is tapping in off the stereo, and i didnt want a spidered wire strung all around the dash. heres to hoping you have a better way! :)

^^^Thanks, did you notice the new custom California pin striping all along the sides, Wed. I went to dog valley to cut my Christmas tree and just shredded the side of my X, I seem to always go down the Quad trails!:smiley:

Looks fun, I wish FL had some just wide open hilly like areas like this. The only hill like area is Hardrock which is a quarry. Otherwise.....FLATTTTTTTTT.
