If you stay stock height you will have issues going with much more then 4.75" back spacing... My truck has the equivalent of 4" bs but it have a pml body lift and trimmed metal...

Oh no, i''ll be adding some height to him before I get him wider. I just didnt know whether to add a WHOLE lot of height to him and stay skinny and tall, or add a small amount of height to him and get him wider.

I decided to do the latter.

That's not really a one answer question. You have to consider backspacing as well as wheel width. Also keep in mind if you increase your track width very much even with stock size tires you'll have to do some fender trimming. Factory wheels are 7 inches wide with 5.5 inches of backspacing. Less backspacing will give you a wider stance. Wider wheels will increase the overall width by half the extra width of the wheel, given the same offset. My wheels have 3/4 inch less backspacing and are one inch wider, so a total of 1 1/4 per side, so a total track width increase of 2 1/2 inches.

Do you plan on offroading it? or just going for looks? this is a big factor because a wider wheel will let you have a wider looking tire, but you can't air down as much.. also safety comes into play..

Not offroading very much. I will offroad, but im not going to become a rock crawler or anything. I'll still go to trails and whatnot everynow and then.

I run 18" wheels that are 9" wide and I have 12.50" wide tires on them. I have as wide of a stance as I'd ever want. And hey you can ask XTERRAFORCE my wide tires make me the dirtiest car when on the trail due to slinging mud all up the side lol

Indeed it does. Yours is probably as wide as anyone one would want to go without some serious lift. It makes a bold, aggressive statement without being too wide. Here's a picture (the yellow one) so you can see how wide it is as well as how muddy.

I'm thinking of going to a wider rim say 8" or 10" rather than putting on spacers and going to a 12.50 tire. To keep the tire in the same location I would have to go with a smaller BS... correct? My intention is to get the wider tire stance but keep the tire from sticking out too much further. Thoughts, comments...

Just so you can reference. My wheels are 9" wide with a 12.50 tire. They also have a BS of 5

The pics on post #32 of your build are w/ the 9" rims, 12.50's & 5" BS? I'm guessing w/ 33's. I saw you had to trim a bit. However, that is the look I'd like. I think you said you do have a 2" BL. Very nice look !!!

Yeah every pic with the black wheels is those. Their exact size is 18x9 and yes the tires are 33x12.50

I trimmed some but not much and I do have a BL

Ill be running a 15x10 with -38mm offset soon. When discount test fit them they sat out right around what your looking for man. Ill be putting a 33x12.50 on them too. I dont wheel very hard anymore due to life stuff but trailrides and an occasional mud hole will work fine :). I'll have to trim a little bit up front otherwise I'll be alright.
