Wheel studs

Found out the hard way that a few of my driver side wheel studs are stripped. Are they standalone studs that can be hammered out and replaced? Or do I need a whole new assembly?

Sorry to hear that happened! I replaced all of mine when I had my X, and you can replace individuals. I hammered them out and pressed them in by pulling the bolt through with a bunch of washers and a nut on the outside and tightening it until it was seated. I had to take the whole front hub assembly and brakes apart but it wasnt extremely difficult, also makes for a good opportunity to service the front while you're at it.

Thanks for the quick response. I gotta get this sorted out as soon as possible.

Good news is that the whole front hub assembly has been serviced recently, so I'm glad I can do just the studs!

They tap out pretty easy and tap back in just as easy.. After you tighten the wheel take it for a ride then re check

I don't know if you've already done it but you have to take your caliper off. Onces that's off you should be able to slide the rotor off and replace the studs. I've replaced over half on mine already haha

Shoot. Just remembered you have to seperate the rotor from the hub assembly or whatever. Pretty sure you still have to take the rotor off to do that though.

Yesh. It was good to re-familiarize myself with that section of the truck. The whole hub has to be disassembled, which I thought was silly. ‎
