Any one who ownes a Volant intake knows that although awesome it's seriously lacking in quality assurance, and is not directly compatible with snorkles without heavy modification. After talking with Volant and trying to get them to seal the box and fix those garbage rubber seals and build a snorkle adapter like the one sold for second gen volant boxes, they wanted to build an entirely new air box fitted with a snorkle that would run somewhere in the ball park of $600-800. That just pissed me off and i let them know and have not heard from them since.

AC's snorkle adapter was designed by them it seems. And the only way they would consider making them for the first gen is if is if we have atleast 50 owners willing to buy one. So, its come down to an interest poll, who wants one?!

If you have a Volant cool air intake and want an adapter to get your self closer to a snorkle or a low pro snorkle, put your name down.
After talking with some poeple, getting a list started would be a great way to contact poeple once we have our 50. so I'll start.

Seems like a lot of extra work for looks. If you're cruising through water deep enough to actually need a snorkel, then you've just drowned your alternator, starter and your distributor isn't waterproof either (not like the dizzy on my '66 Patrol). The vent lines for both of your axles are now under water, as well as the vent lines for your trans/t-case. Your door seals aren't keeping water out either as the body isn't sealed that way. The ECU's are now FUBAR and every electrically controlled anything is now inop.

Not to mention that insurance will give you a fit for any claim resulting from you voluntarilly driving into.

Good luck!

I have only had this rig in tire deep water but I have heard of others going much deeper in their xterras. Try not to be a mod killer, snorkels double as ram air intakes as well as raise your air intake.
