what are the specs?

you can probably get a more aggressive, yet still streetable grind from one of the aftermarket companies

Jim Wolf S1 specs: 260(in)/260(ex) .440 lift :: $547.74 (ImportPartsPro.com)
Euro VG30ET specs: 264(in)/ 264(ex) .392lift :: $325.89 (NissanRaceShop.com)
*prices incl. shipping, and both are compatible with the OEM valvetrain

The $221.85 price difference is what got me to thinking about euro cams

You can't flash the ecu, I have heard a pretty big power gains from cams, most people just don't put in the work to install new cams

Remember: we're talking G1 vs. G2 here. If you have a local tuner shop, ask what they can do. There aren't many things that can be changed, but it may be worth checking into if you're looking at new cams.

The dynamic timing cannot be changed through an ecu reflash but there are ignition tuning options from other early-90s tech cars that can do the same thing. Is it more work? Yes. But it can be done.

Just as many things can be changed on this motor as any other. Not many people with this motor in an Xterra do head/cam work but it should yield pretty solid results.

That's another thing I've been looking into. I want to keep my OBD2, but trying to tune the ECU seems to be near impossible. The best option I can think of is a piggyback system, like the Greddy E-Manage.
