UXOC - Annual Pony Express Trail run! 02/18

Hey guys the date has been set for any X's that wish to come join us for the annual Pony Express Trail Run on Feb 18th! We usually start in Saratoga Springs and head out to Faust jump on the trail and then to Wendover, NV across the west desert. We visit Fish Springs, Callao and Gold Hill! Please post up if you wish to join! Yes it is stock friendly!

Is this an all dayer? about how long does this take, I know its roughly a 2.5 hour drive back to slc, it would be 5 hours to meet up with you guys, then do the trip and another 2.5 back home from wendover. Also it would depend on weather since we have had none yet, i think were about to get some.

Yeah usually we meet up sometime around 8 or 9 and arrive in wendover around 7 or 8. That if we don't have any problems keep your fingers crossed. I don't know if you would want to try it, not really adventurous as you might want Maybe later this year we can get a trail running going over night that you could join?

Well im tempted, it would be cool to meet some other x'ers before moab and nice easy trail run. Yeah this summer seems wide open after moab. I'll probably be out of vacation days until june, a weekender might be a good idea (stupid highschool reunion in august :rawr: )

Yeah, I would like to be able to make this run, but it is just too much driving for me to justify it. Wendover is about 5.5h from me and tack on the time to SLC and trail and I just don't think I can swing it, alas. Someday I would really like to meet up other Xers, too (aside from my closest buddy, Joe, hahaha), in the area-ish.

UXOC annual Pony Express Run happened yesterday as planned.
Wonderful weather for the day.

Left at 8am and got home at 10pm, 403 miles total for me. Long day but a nice drive, and we just beat a big storm home in the process.
At the gas station, Everybody was heading out into the desert. ATV's, motorcycles, Rovers, Cherokees and wranglers. Several groups besides us heading out.

From Simpson Springs, looking out across the desert into Dugway Proving grounds, reportedly the "NEW" area 51 (cue X-FIles music in background). Didn't see any of the reported UFO's anywhere (that I can remember...) Hey! Where did part of the day go?? Hurts to sit down... ARGGHHH:0mg:

Those stories are bogus! Not even so much as a black helicopter following us.... OH CRAP! What's that!!!! :0mg::eeks:

Simpson Springs Pony Express Station (note recreated building in background). With fresh water rare across the desert, a natural fresh-waer spring such as this one was a valuable find.

Wow, great pics. Looks like a great trip. I'm impressed by the short bus representation on that run, wow! Maybe someday I can make it out there with you guys/gals.
