I assume you're putting the new meat on the stock wheels? Mathematically it seems like it would work out in the vertical, you'd be going from 31.6" to 34.6" which is a difference of 3", divide that by 2 and you end up with 1.5" on "each side of the axle." My concern would be on the width, you're adding an inch on "each side of the hub." I would turn the wheels to full lock with your current tires and look at how much room you have. I'm sure there are a lot of specific Gen 2 mods you can look at for exact examples. Just going off tire experience and math on my end...

You should be able to fit them on. Just a few things. You might rub the frame with the tire and full lock. If I remember right you will. Also you will have to trim the fenders at least on the back side maybe on top too. Plus that is a lot of weight to sling around. your acceleration is going to drop.

I run 315/75r16's on procomp rims. I have a 5" calmini suspension lift. Both swaybars removed. I did trim the rearmost portion of the front fenders but nothing else. I do get some rub on the frame at full lock but I can live with that. And yes, the acceleration, or lack thereof is noticeable. One thing you need to check is if those factory rims will work with the tires. My tire guy said those tires are too wide to put on those rims. Even if you mounted them, i think you would have a ton of rub because of the rim's offset. The procomp rims move the tire out away from the center of the vehicle so there is more clearance between tire and frame. I will post some pictures later today when its brighter outside.

Missing issue here is sure you can make then fit... But will the Xterra move.. You will notice a loss in power.. At some point you may want to regear to get that power back.. I will say after driving mudchets Xterra.. 35s do ride sweet on the trails
