Thrust Washer

Well.. I believe I need a thrust washer... I was looking on Courtesy Parts and it was like 60 bucks for what I would need. However, after further research I noticed that the thrust washer for a manual locking hub was about 4 dollars..

So my question is.. Instead of paying about 60 bucks (or more if I get it from a dealership around here) could I just get some Warn or Mile Marker manual locking hubs and only pay about 4 or so bucks for the thrust washer? I'd rather pay more money for some manual locking hubs instead of a crapton of money for a washer.

I appreciate the help guys!

I have warns on my X and I can tell that the lock in better.. It was a nice upgrade.

As far as the washer Id let Cyclemutt or one of the others step in..

Courtesy parts' naming on their diagram is somewhat deceiving.. for auto hubs the 'thrust washer' is actually a fixed cam assembly.. which is why it's $60. The thrust washer used in the manual hubs is just a thick washer with two nubs 180 degrees from each other

This diagram is from the FSM

I'm running the Hardbody manual hubs on mine and they work great

I thought you couldnt but that any longer

Are you referring to the fixed cam assembly? I hadn't heard that.. but then again I've never tried to buy one.

I do have two complete auto hub assemblies chilling in my shop though.. I can't really run them with a welded front diff lol

Sweet! So another question.. Say I went to manual hubs.. What would I have to buy? A thrust washer and a new spindle washer? Or would it just bolt right up the way it is?
