That plastic thing

So I'm repainting all my plastics and I can't figure out how the plastic thing in between the hood and windshield (the wiper housing/grill?) comes off. Any help on that?
Thanks!

So you have to physically remove the wipers and then I believe that they are easily popped out, there while you have them off you can also do a vintage mod called the fresh air mod. Let me see if I can find a link for you for that.

While on this subject, I have tried and tried to pop off those damn covers on the wiper bolts but no luck. Anyone have any tips? They seems fairly fragile on mine and I don't want to risk breaking it, but I suppose if it's a cheap enough replacement then I'm game

Any idea if this works on Gen2's as well?

They're less fragile than you think. Just get a screwdriver or tiny pry bar under the edge and keep at it. They likely haven't been touched in 10+ years since the factory put them on.

Gotcha, thanks for the help. I'll try it again tonight, I think I was just too hesitant to put any real force into it
