I have the 05 4 spoke se wheels wheeled with them with no problems. Opinions people! If new steel wheels where should I go to get the best deal?

I went with steel wheel simply because it's cheaper and easier to find off road tires like the 31's I have for a 15" wheel than it is a 16"

Do 2nd Gen Xterras not have problems with the caliper hitting wheels, like my 2nd gen Frontier does? I swear I can't find a decent set of steel wheels to save my life. Sure, they will fit the lug pattern, but the calipers or too big for most wheels. I am disappoint.

What exactly are you trying to do? Do you want a second set of rims for like daily driving purposes?
And with an 05 you cant fit 15s on there to my knowledge, best deals out there are usually picking up someones old factory rims, you might be able to find some steelys out there somewhere but due to the rare lug pattern of our rigs you are kind of limited in what you can and cant put on with or without a spacer/adapter

I have 1.5" spacers looking for 17" right now cause my tires still have a lot of tread in them. Has anyone had any problems using stock wheels? If not ill keep what I got and spend money on something else sliders rear bumper etc...

wait, this is a thing? I never heard this before, I almost got some too a month or so back. I know they are better for harder wheeling, man I get mud choked up in my SE wheels all the time and it sucks.

Yes. Very much a thing. There are a lot of wheels that will fit our lug pattern, but won't clear the calipers. I have been watching like a hawk, and to this day, I have not seen anyone put a set of steelies on a 2nd gen frontier without using an adapter of some sort.

I looked high and low for aftermarket rims that will fit a Gen2. The Gen1 trucks use a different bolt pattern so the followoing comments apply only to Gen2.
Basically, after an extensive search it was really only the ProComp 7089 rims that met all my criteria. Amazingly, there are very few rims out there with a 6x4.5 bolt pattern, which is what the Gen2's have. After that, once I looked at the offset needed, I think it was -12mm for my 315/75 r16 tires, The ProComps were about the only option left. I could not find any steelies that would fit, except for the Nissan factory steelies. the guy at the tire store advised me NOT to put a 315 tire on the factory steelies because the rim is too narrow for the tire. So I ended up with the PrComps.
If you go google xterras and look at all the images of Gen2 trucks you will see that nearly all, if not all, run either a factory rim or the ProComps.

I run Black Rock steelies, but it appears that it's difficult to find stuff for the Gen 2s. I need someone to verify, but based on the specs mudchet listed, these would work as well:

Black Rock # 262-997796445
Type 8 Series 997
17" x 9"
6 x 4.5"
Rear spacing 4 1/2"
Offset: -12mm

Those steelies are nice. I looked at those but wanted to stay with a 16" rim. Good to know though!

My question is why not just go with some aftermarket aluminum wheels... You an get good ones all day long for $115, as wheels go that's pretty cheap....
