Are there any sites out there that can beat Amazon.com for gear? I'm probably going to be buying a bag soon and every buck saved is good

B&H? Yes. VERY reputable. Whatever you do, don't use BorrowLenses.com.....sure, once or twice is great, but by the time you pay shipping, etc, for all the gear that you rent, you could have BOUGHT it. Seriously.

If you know you'll never use the gear more than once, it's worth it...........but not if you plan on doing it once a MONTH.

^very true, even though it's much tougher to fork over a grand right away, then it is to pay 4 small increments, at least at the end of the money out the door it's yours

There's a lot of information on Photography on The Net. In addition to B&H that's already been mentioned, Adorama is another good reputable online dealer. I've bought a lot from both B&H, Adorama and Amazon and can recommend all 3.
