Online tax service? Opinions?

Okay ladies and gents, I've got a question for all of you. This is the first year I'll be doing my own taxes (21 and parent's aren't doing it for me anymore) and I obviously would like to not spend a boatload getting them done. Seems like there are plenty of places online (TurboTax, Taxslayer, H R block, etc.) and they ALL have mixed reviews, some love it, some hate it. Do any of you do them online and recommend somewhere, or do you just take them in? Mine will be very simple, just my W2. Don't have any loans or anything else.

Get a 1040-EZ and do it yourself. Being 21 with no loans and likely no odd deductions, you should be able to do yours in about 15 min for the cost of postage.

Hmm maybe i'll have to look in to what Muadeeb suggested. I'll have to find some time, Calc O.Chem and Psych classes have had me swamped.

I'm based because I worked at H&R Block for 6 years, but if you just have the one W2, look into what Deeb said. I was preparing my own taxes at 15 years old, so it's not that hard. It really isn't difficult. If you get stuck., I can help.

Nice thing about Turbo Tax (and I think H&R Block online) is you can prepare your 1040ez for free then they give you the option of submitting online (for a fee) or printing and submitting your return on your own.

I'm gonna give it a shot on my own. Looks like Intuit (the company that owns TurboTax) is anti-gun, so they will not be getting my support.

I didn't know that about Intuit. Thanks for pointing that out. I've used TurboTax in the past and was happy with it but that is enough to keep me from using them again.

Try taxact.com I switched from turbo tax to them a few years ago, because I didn't have to buy software. Easy peasy for what you need.

When I was younger and only had a W2 or a couple of them i did my taxes the old fashion way do the EZ-1040. Now that I have investments and other crap I use turbotax.
