Mystery ground

So I was looking for any oil leaks on my new valve cover gasket and came across this severed wire grounded to the body.

What did it go to

Mine goes over from the body to the manifold heat shield.

My guess (haven't had time to look on mine) is an exhaust ground for the o2 sensor. You'll see one like it on the other side.

Had the exact same thing. Just ripped it off.

Yeah heat shield on the manifold. I lost mine when I put my headers on.
