Just letting everyone know that wed. Morning my mom had a stroke she has been in the hospital since and is still there (Erlanger medical center room 7138 in Chattanooga tn) she don't have the use of her left leg or her left arm and she can hardly talk. I'm telling everyone this because she has no insurance and I'm her only Famliy and I have low income and due to this I can not get her in a rehab facility and the state will not help in anyway I have tried every avenue so what I'm asking is for 1 prayers and 2 if anyone has any suggestions or know anyone that could help with her rehab (not money I don't ask anyone for money) such as they know someone that is a physical therapist that could help or of any grants etc anything is helpful

So sorry to hear! I'm a nurse, and I would suggest the hospital social worker or patient accounts representative to see what they can suggest. Catholic Charities will many times offer grants for things like rehabilitation and you don't have to be a member of the church. The hospital social worker should have a comprehensive list of the organizations that can financially assist your family. Good luck and best wishes to her!

Thank you everyone. And I have been dealing with the hospital case worker and she has been no help actually she has been one of the most negative people I have ever dealt with but I will not give up

I'd ask for a different case worker and report her to the administration. She's supposed to be there to assist with solutions, not give a stressed out family more grief. The sooner she can start rehab, the better chance she has at regaining some independence.

Some hospitals have funds set aside for to assist patients without insurance. I would check with the hospital administrator and see if the can assist or lead you in the right direction. Fight for the best care you can get for her. I found you really have to be your own advocate, now days. My thoughts and prayers are with you, your health is the most important thing.

Some states have funds set aside for people without insurance and low income. New Mexico had it and it was called indengent care or something like that. We had to use it when we were in college and just married.
