Removed the sissy bar, took bags off, and cleaned her up a bit.

Went on a ride with some friends who also own shadows. My aero on the left, 2013 phantom in middle, 03 spirit on right.

I'm really enjoying riding so far and I'm glad I got a 750 to start with. Plenty of power for me right now, but its all predictable. Plus the bike isn't extremely heavy and the weight is all down low.

Nice! Ive ridden those a few times (as passenger) and found it pretty comfortable. Great purchase. :)

Thanks guys. The color is what drawed me to this particular bike. The blue and black looks amazing in person.

Only problems are
1. It needs tires. I'm ordering some Pirelli MT66s to remedy that

2. I think it's running a bit lean. I'm by no means a mechanic but it idles fine, and runs fine at speeds. But when taking off from a stop in first gear it likes to bog down, have to give it a lot of throttle/ride the clutch to get it going. So I'm going to check for vacuum leaks, maybe try adjusting the air/fuel screw on the carb, and then clean the jets if I need too. Probably should check the spark plugs too, I don't know how lean or how long its been running lean but they may be fouling pretty badly.

Well I cleaned the carb, the main jet was junked up, but not too badly. Also changed all the plugs, found that the seal ring on one of them was shot. It runs a bit better and I rarely stall it now, but I still can't get the take off down like I can on other bikes. I feel like I have to ride the clutch a bit too much. Maybe because my bike is shaft driven and everything else I've ridden is chain driven. Probably geared a bit different too.

Got my tires installed too. Noticeable difference and they look sweet. I'll post a pic later if I remember.

So glad I finally got a bike, they really are a lot of fun.

Personally I didn't notice a difference between chain and shaft drive when I got my VTX. Then again the torque difference could be a factor. It's an 1800 v-twin and my biggest chain drive is a 750 inline four, the other two are 650 singles. You almost have to throw the clutch lever away with no throttle to stall the VTX.

Still really enjoying the bike, much more so with the new tires. I've gotten much better with takeoffs and I don't think I've stalled it any the last 2 weeks or so.

I can definitely see myself getting something bigger maybe next summer if I can afford it. I figure I can get my money back on this bike so it shouldn't be too hard. I want something I can stretch out on a bit more. I'm 6'2" and I'm a bit cramped on this bike. I've thought about changing the seat and adding some bars with a bit more rise and less pullback, but that's money lost when I sell it.

Next logical step maybe a vtx 1300 or 1800. I know I'd like the extra torque and I think they both have longer frames than the shadow 750.
