Well i can finally say Im fed up with the newx.... back in 2008 i got my xterra and since then she really grew up. I don't spend the time here that i did over there being that i was more comfortable over there. But it has taken a turn for the worse and I'm trying to just find that site again, the site the newx used to be. The site i could waste hours of my day on and actually walk away with new and useable knowledge. Ive gone over this site and i can proudly say this is a site i feel very comfortable with and see a lot of potential in members here some new some i am familiar with but the growth on this site seems to be there and i desperately missed that. I can be bashful on others that are unfair at times but for the most part I'm mild mannered and stick to what really matters. I hope to contribute to this site more than i did in the newx. Its gonna be different but the future is bright!!!!

I understand what you mean, we bs a lot here about useful and non useful stuff. It's kind if all encompassing, welcome back feel free to speak here, I this is more of a welcoming place, people try to help each other rather than telling new people to use the search function. I've tried to use that over there and never have great results.

Welcome man.... I used to take a lot of crap on cx because of social posts and no tech info...
Each person that joins a forum has the Xterra in common.. And I have made some life long friends all over the US because of the social factor.. The mods will come over time

I've never been a search button junkie and bash good people who honestly don't know. Thenewx when I first went to it, no one bashed people for repeat threads. Now all I see is use the search button your f**** it just gets old and people need to understand not all or forum junkies or know all the guide lines

Some of that is the leadership over there.. We hand picked people from both sites to help us start this one...

That kind of stuff will get deleted here because we ain't want to run off the people who you described. They may only get on when they need something and we should help them even if the thread is a duplicate. We as moderators can then delete or merge the thread after they've been helped.

thats what i like to hear, im sure it happened on the newx as well. Just all the *****ing got old and i no longer wanted to support something i dont believe is right or dont feel is handled or monitored with proper authority. Even the mods over there were going out side the boxes to do things they shouldnt.

Welcome into to XN, Treff. These guys are some of the most helpful people I've come into contact with. Always giving pointers and alternate routes for mods and repairs. Without the help of the loyal folk of this forum, my Xterra would still be at the dealership unpurchased.I lasted on Clubx for about 2 weeks before stumbling into this crowd, this is the only forum I'm on now actively.

I have an addiction to researching any decision more than most warrant. I was going grocery shopping last week and researched how to get the best taste for the best price on a jar of peanut butter...is $1.89 worth the time it took me to do that? No, I have a problem, dont judge me! ;) That being said I researched a LOT of forums before deciding to join this one, i not only have never regretted the decision I am thankful daily for such a wonderfully fun and informative group of people ( I always write guys then backspace a lot to write people, I have learned from a few ladies on here as well ;) ) I was interested in tech info, like how difficult is it to change my timing belt? How often should I service my diffs? Well I not only learned what I wanted i have also Pulled off my step rails, flaps, rear sway bar, and am in the process of ordering my lift kit and new shocks. Next is a light rail and painted plastics and the more i think about it maybe a trip to Tennessee! I was "bitten by the Mod bug" I was INFECTED with a viral desire to make my X better. i am no longer satisfied to "enjoy the scenic route" I want to take the road less traveled...that requires diff locks and a winch! WELCOME TO XTERRANATION! MWAHAHAHA

Welcome to the Nation!!! What else can be said that hasn't already been said? ummm well how bout... Ask anything you want...If Someone knows the answer I believe they'll tell ya...otherwise they'll help you find the answer. I moved here for basically the same reason you did from CX. The Mods and Admins here I believe are truely here to help and promote the Xterra family, something that has been lost IMHO with some sites. Once again Welcome and don't be bashful my bark is worst than my bite. That is until you speak badly about my cooking...HAHAHAHAHA

I'll admit I'm more active on TNX but that's partially due to me being a member there longer and there being more posts over there. However I too see that forum collapsing like a lot of forums do with age. It started changing for the worse when it got sold (and no I don't blame the ownership for selling). Since then its gone down hill. Since then a lot of the veterans that had knowledge to share and that were helpful have either stopped posting with any regularity or left completely.

Off topic threads are valid as long as they generally stay on the one topic they were created for. And there is no sense in saying "use search". Be helpful and tell them to search but also link them to a thread that would benefit them. If you're gonna take time to read the thread and post, make your post worthwhile.

Look forward to XN growing and become more active! It seems to be full of great people to this point.

The newx used to be my favorite site, its all i looked at and it taught me everything i know. But it was sold and hasnt been the same, i tried riding it out but i can no longer contribute to a community that is bashful and goes against the true roots of what that site was created for. It was designed to help people who didnt have the knowledge grow and teach them. It is no longer that site...

I agree. When I got my first X in 2010 it basically introduced me to the idea of modding a vehicle for wheeling. Ill admit I didn't know how to change my own oil when I first logged on to that site, now I can do that and a whole lot more.

Just sucks to see it spiraling down hill like it is...

I just meant on the site, I wish I was out in your beautiful state.. but when you won the POTM, I saw the rig, loved it but noticed that you weren't on here all the time.. Glad you are here, and that rig of yours just keeps getting better and better.

ah got ya, ya she is growing up slower these days with the recent girlfriend but there both worth it imo. Im here now and thats all that matters, love that this site is 1st and 2nd gens cause before i got the 2008 i had a 2003 i was gonna mod but was totaled by a drunk driver, thats how i funded the newer one.

Welcome on over to XN! Yeah, I'm a TNX veteran (joined Oct 2009) but am nowhere near as active on there as I used to. I enjoy the relaxed open atmosphere here a lot more (not to mention I'm a mod here anyway).

Oh, and if you become a paying member, you get extra areas to view/post on here *cough Mel's dirty naughty forum cough* :-D

Welcome over here Tref! I too am one of the recent ones to join up over here from TNX. I'll still be over there too, but I really do like the calmer attitude here at XN. Like Xebra67 said, we need to get out wheeling again as soon as some trails open up.

Ya buddy I love it here, like I said ill still keep tabs over on the newx but for the most part I'd rather contribute here but as far as trail runs ill be on both I wanna go up now! And mike needs to do a run with us!
