I lost reverse out of nowhere in August. I pulled the pan and the fluid was clean and there was nothing unusual in the pan. Solenoids all checked good. I bought a used trans on eBay with 16k miles. It didn't fit. The supercharged X's have an extra turbine sensor on the front of the transmission that the non-supercharged ones don't. Sent that one back and decided to rebuild it myself. I ordered the kit with all new clutches and steels and a new band. I got it torn apart and all the clutches were still good. Also the band they sent was too narrow. Apparently the supercharged ones use a wider band. They sent me the right band within a few days. After several emails back and forth with the company I got the kit from (Winner's Choice Transmission Parts), we figured out the problem. The bushing on the reverse drum where it rides on the pump was worn and it wore a groove on the pump. I ordered a rebuilt pump and bushing and started assembling. The kit I got was short 1 steel and 1 clutch for 2 of the drums ( I don't remember which drums). I just reused 2 of my old ones as they were still good. I also had to replace the front turbine sensor because I damaged it disassembling the transmission ($165 lesson learned). While I had it apart I unplugged the knock sensor connector so I can relocate it later ( I bypassed it about a year ago) and replaced the cracked passenger side exhaust manifold. So $700 and 3 payments later she's back on the road.
I can't say enough about Rich at Winner's Choice. He helped me find the problem and get me all the parts I needed.
