Horn Issues

I guess this issue would fall under this category. I've been having issues with my horn not working. The panic on my keyless works and sets the horns off as well, it honks when I lock the truck. However when I go to actually honk my horn, nothing happens. I think the contacts might be bad in the horn? Anyone know how I go about removing the cover off the wheel to access that stuff to see what's going on? Or do you have any other suggestions as what might be causing the issue. I changed the horn relay to no avail, either.

Thanks in advance.

Check Primes steering wheel thread, should give you a detailed version how to remove your steering wheel and check on your horn.

Mine does this from time to time. I am currently on horn number 3. My issue isn't steering wheel related though. I just really like mud. Mud and horns don't mix.
Also with it being as frigid as it has been here in Jersey the thing just freezes and doesn't work.

Yeah. The gen1 horn sucks balls. My factory one died the first time I went wheeling. I'm on number 3 as well. AutoZone. $15.

Well my horn still works...thats my issue. Its me honking the horn not working. Panic horn works loud and clear and sounds a wee bit flamboyent, too. :/

Since the 'alarm' fires the horn (assuming it's the factory system), then it's either the horn switch in the airbag, or the wiring leading up to the relay. I can't tell from the wiring diagram where the splice for the two controls are, other than it's somewhere between the SMJ and the spiral cable. If you decide to go digging in the harness, the orange connector on the airbag looks to be for the horn, and the specific wire is a light green with red striping. Inside the steering column, it's a yellow connector with 7 connections and the wire is at one end.
