Technically...wiper blades are supposed to be changed out every 4-6 months anyway ;)

BUT I understand. Trico blades do suck IMHO. I like Michelin blades, haven't used the specific ones you mentioned but any Michelin blade I've used in the past has been wonderful. I forget the brand that's on my truck currently but whatever they are I got from RockAuto during their 90-something% off wiper blade blowout sale, they were expensive blades that I got for like $1.60 a piece and I love them.

And, FWIW, I've never been a fan of Rain-X blades or windshield treatment...especially the blades. I don't know if they're supposed to be used in conjunction with the treatment or what, but Rain-X blades were some of the streakiest and shortest-lived blades I've ever seen...and I saw them used both with and without the windshield treatment.

I had Silblades on my last vehicle and they were great. I'd like to get them for the X as well. Silicone is some pretty neat stuff, stays soft when cold, won't adhere to anything, sun won't degrade it, lot of pluses as wiper blade material.

It's almost time to change mine, not sure what I have now but they came with the X and I've had it over a year and they are still okay, I'm getting one streaky spot.

The one rain-x blade I have on my Xterra streaks more than the GY blades from Costco.

The only Trico blades I have any experience with are the Trico Force blades. My first set lasted about 14 months before they started to chatter when there was only a light mist. The never did streak. I've got another set of them now but from everything I've heard I may try some Michelin's next time. They're really the only ones I've heard of that even the cheaper ones do pretty well.

Yes. The Rain-X blades suck. I'm on the expensive Bosch blades at the moment. Love em.

The Rain-X treatment however? I will never own or even rent a car that doesn't have Rain-X on the glass. I run the Rain-X washer fluid because I'm lazy. But it makes such an epic difference in visibility I don't even need wipers at interstate speeds.

When I went to Ohio last month it was pouring when I got there. Had to stop and put Rain-X on the rental car. The visibility difference was astonishing.

I went from the expensive Bosch to Rain-X blades. I put a set on my truck 2 years ago, and only recently changed them out. I also have Rain-X on my windshield, too. I don't have any complaints about them, other than the price..but I find them at Big Lots for half what they cost at any auto parts retailer.

Over the years I've heard and seen first hand a lot of good and bad experiences with Rain-X. I wonder if maybe it has something to do with how it's used, the condition of the windshield or what?

Haven't a clue. All I know is it had the cheapo Anco blades on it when I bought it. I drove it home from Clarksville in the pouring rain with shotty wipers. First thing I did was put Rain X blades on it.
