I am looking for tires, amd I really like the cooper STT and other off roading tires. I dont drive much to and from work so I was thinking of picking up some more rims and buying new tires. I went to tires.com and tire rack and it seems they took them off od their site. Is there something out there that is better? I like the beefy look. I was even thinking Kelly safari tsr's or even treadwrights.

I can say that I love my treadwrights! A few local fellas around here have been running them with no issues at all. I have a jeep friend who had something happen to one of his and they sent him an entire new set and told him to trash the others. Needless to say he trashed the one tire and now has 4 (he bought 5 for a spare of course) spare tires. Lucky punk he is.

I know Ryan Miller has them also I plan on seeing how they are after a few months. Let me know how they hold up. I would like to take the duratracs off and have them for off roading only and the New ones for the road and off roading that happens spontaneous.

So your looking to replace AT's for MT's for on road? I'd say get KM2's and then daily drive the Duratracs. The KM2's are superior to the duratracs off road.

Like CMD said I have ran the km2s and will go back to them again.. I like the Duratracs.. They have been good for wheelin and are great on the road.. But I just like the bfg better..

Sean I thought that treadwrights and the STT's are just like the duratracs. I Love the Kelly safari;s because its the same mold as the duratracs but they are really expensive, I am also trying to figure out if I want to buy 16 inch rims or 15 inch. and I am not sure if I am going to get steelies or 5 more stock rims.

If you are going to get another set of wheels, go with 15s, the tires are cheaper, better selection of tires, and you get more sidewall to play with. If you look around you can find older Nissan wheels with the right backspacing for about the same price as steelies.

Heck some x's came with 15s and a bunch of Frontiers, hard bodys and pathys had them.

I've seen the STT on Cooper's website, but I don't believe TireRack carries Cooper Tires. Discount Tire carries them, though.

If you like those, check out the Mastercraft Courser MT, also made by Cooper. EXTREMELY durable and they look INSANE. :)

The STT's and Treadrights are the same tread but also are MT's. Duratracs are considered AT's.. I just don't see the point of getting a second set if your going to DD the MT's and wheel the AT's. If you get a set of MT's, wheel them and save the Duratracs for DD.

My advise that will save you a 1000 bucks. Hold off on getting a second set. Once your Duratracs get some good miles on them and start to lose their off road capabilities then go out and buy some MT's to use exclusively offroad and then just kill the Duratracs on the pavement....Or if your dead set on getting new tires, get something a bit conservative and get BFG AT's or GG AT2's. They are great off road but are also pretty damn good on tread life and MPG. This is a good "aggressive" tire that will last you 60k+ and then run the Duratracs off road.

As for the rims... Get the 15" You'll spend near the same for 15" tires plus rims then you would for JUST the 16" tires.

Keep us updated.

I'm running the Wild Country MTX's and so far they have done well. They are noisy but well mannered on road and have yet to get me stuck off road. They are made by cooper under the Multi Mile brand. They may be cheaper than some of the name brands.

I got rims from SummitRacing and was very happy with them. Good price, reasonable shipping and the style/model I needed for my old Cragars.

Ive got the stts and there pretty good on road!!

Killer off-road they dig like crazy!!! I'm not real happy with the way they are wearing though (pretty sure its due to needing a front end alignment though)

Price for the 16s suck drop down to 15s. I payed 206 a tire and my buddy didnt charge me sales tax. Still came in at $824

If you get some stts, kill the durar-tracs on the pavement and wheel with the stts
