I figured I would start a build over here also.

I have had my SE 4x4 X since 2004, bought it with 12K miles on it and now it has 193K lol. What do they say? All highway miles?

Well I finally got the space and money to start modding. First thing was to get rid of that rusted out rear bumper and paint all of the plastics.

Shop broke one of my camber bolts doing my alignment, so what a great time to get and install AC UCA's!

Got the parts in and getting installed tomorrow!

Well I got to play with my new grinder today. I cut off the tabs on top of the bumper and the those ugly side tabs.

Girl friend was pulling up as I was getting done and asked where my eye protection was...Oh yea was having too much fun lol.

Thanks all! Bumper is getting modded a bit, due to the rust the rubber bushings got all rotted out and I don't feel like spending 40 bucks to replace them so I fabbed a couple brackets up to keep the sides from banging against the bumpers. Those should go on this weekend.

Was grinding down rust under neath the X over the weekend. Grinder kicked and took half the skin off one of my fingers.

But I wrapped it in a paper towel and finished lol.

So I have been trying to decide between Herculiner and Mostaliner. After a lot of research and comparing costs I am going with Mostaliner. I hope to have it purchased within a couple weeks. The weather here in NE ohio has been crap with no end in sight for a bit.

I have a pretty cool pain scheme in my mind with what I want. Not just the regular old bottom of the X and hood.

Thanks, it has been a slow process for me. Every time I want to do something cosmetic I fight with myself that I should be something mechanical. Truck does have 190K miles on it lol

So with that being said I am changing the valve cover gaskets tomorrow.

Did the passenger side valve cover gasket last night. It kinda tuned into a comedy of erros. Every thing came off pretty easy. Then when it came to the reassembly I found that I bought the wrong size hex socket for the new bolts I was putting in to replace the phillips heads.

So I run to the auto parts store and get the right size. Come home start to reassemble and on the last frickin bolt I find that the hole is cross threaded. have to take everything apart, tap the hole and start over again!

Well then I find my torque wrench is not working right. It wont give me the magical click at 20lbs. So now I am just going by best guess.
