Can Torsion Bar Anchors Skip Teeth? Now, I've seen truck where they go and the front end drops. We had a case on the trail 2 years ago; pull him off, readjusted and the dropped right away.

I got sway-a-ways installed about 3 years ago, the anchors are still the originals...
Now, I've noticed my front end sagging, the drivers side more then the passenger side, but still, the entire front end needs to go up. I was wondering if it just skipped teeth, but my Nissan club friends assures me that it's impossible without it going all the way down. I went to a garage to get them cranked up and aligned. I'm out of town for a few months and went to a garage that the local off-road guys that I've hung around with here before suggested, and they said it skipped teeth and that it wasn't worth doing and wanted to replace the anchors....

I did find a used set out of California (they look mint) for a good price (otherwise it's $475 taxes in here in Canada) just in case, but my friends stand by and don't believe the garage's diagnostics, and do believe them. If it skipped teeth, I should be able to get it to skip again, and despite all my efforts, I can't...
I was wondering if anyone has experience with them, and if anyone has ever seen torsion bars skip teeth, but still stay intact?

I’ve never seen or heard of the rear anchors (what Nissan calls the ARM-TORQUE,FRONT SUSPENSION) skipping teeth. I do not believe they can since they are splined all the way around. I never saw them slowly go only fail catastrophically as your Nissan club friends assure you they do.
I’ve seen the ears on the adjusters (what Nissan calls the ARM ASSY-ANCHOR) slowly bend and fail. I’ve seen the adjuster bolt (what Nissan calls the BOLT-ANCHOR) strip, failing slowly. I’ve had the cross-member that the adjuster rides in bend and slowly fail.
I’d check those before get any replacement parts.
Good luck!

There is no way for them to skip a spline, bend the bar itself, the cross member, or the adjuster yes, but not the spline.
