A/C Dual Pressure Switch?

Hey all, look and didn't see too much on this so I'm posting to see if someone can help me out. I haven't had my X long, this is the first summer with it, 2003 SE S/C, and I'm having A/C problems, which isn't a good thing when I move to Arizona in a week and a half.

It seems to work find for at least 10-15 min when it will turn warm. I've checked and the Clutch is not engaged during this time. It was recently evac/recharged and when it works it works great! I tried changing the thermistor in the evap box under the glovebox, no dice. If I turn the X off and come back in 15-20 min it will work like a charm again for a bit. I put a cheap gauge (came with a freon can) and it measured extremely high when it was blowing hot, but it's normal when the A/C is working. My next best guess is the dual pressure switch. Is this easy to change? Will removing it make the system empty freon or is it simple plug and play? I looked in the FSM to see how to troubleshoot it, but that requires the gauge set that costs more than the part. Any help is appreciated!

Rent the gauge from Autozone or similar; you'll get it all back. As for changing it, you'll wind up opening up the system, as it reads the pressure in the system. It's also on the high side, so you have a 100+ lbs of pressure coming out a 1/2" hole or so.

I took my truck to the shop and they removed all the freon and put the right pressure in it. now my compressor will kick on and off whenever it pleases. I have power to my relay and fuses, can someone steer me in the right way so I don't pay an arm and a leg

Just went out and bought an A/C Evaporator Temperature Sensor and hopefully this fixes the problem. If not it will be on to the next possible problem.

just changed out the a/c evaporator temperature sensor and it fixed my problem.
