That looks awesome....wish I had trails like that around here, everything is heavily wooded.

Yes we are very lucky here in Colorado, we have a lot of varying terrain from wooded to above timberline it's a lot of fun.. Let us know if you ever get out this way and we'll take you wheelin..

Unfortunately not Colorado, but instead the mountains of mid to southern New Mexico. Either way, definitely better terrain than the concrete and asphalt I am constantly surrounded by out here (unless I want to drive 4-5 hours, minimum). The uninhabitted beach drives are fun though, especially once you get about 5 miles past the last tire tracks you see.

That looks like so much fun and breath-taking-ly beautiful. Of all the trails in the U.S. I've seen photos and read about, Red Cone is the one I want to do the most. Someday...!

You have an open invitation to come out and wheel with us.. Red Cone is a lot of fun and the views are breath taking to say the least. It was actually overcast and sprinkling off and in most of the day. There are some other trails on the area that are fantastic also and don't forget about the Ouray area in Southern Colorado..

That hill...oh, that hill. Is it as steep as it looks?

Great pics, thanks for sharing with The Nation :D

Yes it is!!! I was standing about 100yds from the bottom when I took the picture of my buddy coming down in the Jeep (who by the way was scared ****less).. Lets just say that there's a little "Pucker Factor". Then you run a narrow ridge for awhile to the trail intersects with 2 others.
We're going back up this weekend with a group and the plan is to video the run. We'll also do Radical Hill and possibly Santa Fe Peak.. Ill make sure we get it posted.

I love my heavily forested mountains here and wouldn't give them up for anything, but if I ever get the chance to hit up that place there's no way I'd miss it. Hopefully someday. Until then, thanks for the awesome pictures so I can see how amazing you're area of the country is.

We have heavily forested, too! This area is above timberline at 12,800 feet above sea level. We were looking down at the forested areas we drove through to get there.

Oh believe me, I'll come out again sometime. When I came out a few years ago and wheeled with the local Xers, it snowed on red cone and was too slick/nasty to try it, alas. Until then, I'll enjoy all the photos of it...and work on re-gearing my X ahaha!

That sounds like a plan.. Yeh it's amazing how fast the weather can change up in the mountains, it'll be nice and cool and all of a sudden you can get snow. It was raining off and on all day while we were up there, we decided not to do Radical Hill because of the rain and it being to slick.. We're going back up there this weekend and ill try and get some better pics of the descent for you of Red Cone..
