My dumbass should have gotten my safety inspection earlier this month before I switched to yellow lights on top. Apparently now in Virginia you can have auxiliary lights on the vehicle and pass inspection as long as the lens, reflectors, and lights are clear. So my grille lightbar is fine, but since my new lights up top are yellow I have to wait till my covers get here. The code now specifically disallows tape, foil, etc for temporary covers, so that won't work.
Technically the LED bulbs in the headlight housing will fail too, but I'm hoping those go by unnoticed. I'd rather try it and pay the $1 to bring it back for reinspection than to go through all the trouble needlessly up front.
