It depends on how you define “pizza.” Pizza Margherita, the typical tomato sauce and cheese pizza was invented in I think 1889 in Naples. I’ve eaten a pizza at the original restaurant. Pilgrimage. Not my fave pizzeria (there are better), but it is an obligatory place to visit while in Naples.
If by “pizza” you mean the barely edible cheese food, that happened sometime later.

also this whole Milwaukee terminal carding thing has all the other drivers and myself reaching critical levels of saltiness.
im keeping mine down the best i can, its just the 2nd hand salt from the other guys is affecting me.
couple times i went full crabby truck driver without even driving a gobble damn truck. you dont want to be around me when im crabby truck driver cuz ill say some really nasty shiat. i ended bitching out on one of the terminal operators today for not doing his ufcking job to get all (mostly myself) carded as quickly as he should have, he nearly wet himself under the load rack and i got my load card then crabby truck driver went away.
