Apocalypse rig

Post up your ideal apocalypse rig or what you've done to your current setup with survival in mind.

Two things made me think of this, first this bus

Then an article with a survival truck which I'll post up later when I find the article again.

Thanks Tim!

The bus intrigued me though. It would give lots of space for living inside, a pretty workable exterior and could pull a trailer full of supplies. Also, they are probably relatively cheap and may even be easy to find, that I haven't looked into.

Ok, link added. I still like the bus as a poor mans survival rig. You could fashion solar panels to provide electricity and you could stash a lot of water inside safely.

Need Bigger Tires
I would like my X and finally do external 3/8 ballistics plating. I would make it look all geometrical as well as make a v-hull undercarriage. Of course upgraded suspension, wheels, and multilayered glass. Can't forget my gyrocam on a telescopic pole.

I drove it today. My friend owns it. Mega fun to off road in. (Gama goat aka 1.25ton, 6x6 M561, from vietnam era military vehicles).

Suspension Lift
the only thing bad about that mel is it doesn't look like it would have a ton of living room in it.

The rear part can be converted. Oh and the thing floats, too. You can drive it on a lake. Or more like through it.

Bought an X
There's actually a stripped out motor home here in (Murfreesboro) TN that would make for a killer "survival" rig. Guy only wants $7500 (used to be $15000)
