Hey guys, Xterra been running warm over the past few months. Today I saw the Xterra get the hottest it’s been in a while, it got to 221 when I was in traffic with AC on. (It’s been 70-82°F out today) I use a bullydog to see the coolant temp, it normally runs 206°-210° on the highway (cruising from 70-80 MPH 2-3k rpm) and hangs from 208°-210° around town (sometimes up to 213°)
The fan clutch is good, did the ole newspaper test with that, if I accelerate from a stop it cools down and that would indicate that the water pump is functioning properly (if I’m not mistaken) and I guess that means the thermostat would be working ok too. This leaves me to think either their is air in system or that the Radiator is finaly needing some attention (aka replace it lol)
I had it at shop last week for coolant flush and it didn’t change anything
Any input to steer me in right direction would be awesome!

These are notorious for being a biatch to bleed as the air get's kinda stuck around/in the heater core . Some people park on a steep grade and burp it by squeezing the hose . Z-1 offer's a replacement hose part with a bleed valve on it . With that many mile's maybe it's gummed up and has some blockage so it's just time for a new radiator . Just my 2 cent's............
