I hope folks don't take this as an insult to this forum, or any forum, but the "same thing over and over again" happens on any forum that grows. If you have people asking the same questions over and over again, that means you have new users and new users mean growth, which is a good thing. The key is how it's handled. If the users are rude to the new folks asking the same question a thousand times, then those users most likely won't stick around. Give this place a few years, you'll get a lot of duplicated questions and you'll get a lot of annoyed users. It's just what happens.

Fortunately I wasn't a part of the drama over there but I am glad I am a part of the nation. I was getting tired of the same thing over and over again on CX. Thank you Dave & Johann for putting this site together. You have done an awesome job and I'm proud to be a part of it!

I get that but you also get people replying to the newbies and are a-holes. I don't mind the same questions, I should have been more clear it was the way members answered the newbies. Also some of the nit picking as well. I do agree with you new members are great and that means growth!

Yeah the same questions over and over never really bothers me.. I'm not a fan of the group of guys that want to attack the new guys.. That's all man bs.. If those guys want that hit up a jeep forum.. They will eat their children..

Things seem to have cooled down over there. No lost in connectivity on my end and as for ads. It happens and nothing to gripe about. He is right though growth happens and so do questions. Its the name of the game. Some just decided to jump ship or get on the bandwagon. That happens to. I enjoy both sites as I do not visit CX at all anymore since they the whole postwhore scandal..lol I remember when someone *cough* use to be called dav-id ; p

IMHO...as long as the search function here works better than there, I think any newbie, myself included, will be able to find answers quickly and be satisfied. Attitude is a state of mind. Besides...yall are loyal, curtious, kind, cheerful, helpful, caring and always open minded. Oh wait...that's the Boy Scouts...never mind.

That wasnt me sir.. Many there didnt like that the Night shift and or fun whore threads.. I always felt like the made people more friendly.. Some people only want a car forum as a car forum...

And Im still Dav-id...

Im sure Autoforums will slowly bring in all the Ad's.. Im a paying member on CX still and I see AD's everywhere now.. All that hover or key word BS ..

I find it odd that the ex-owner of the "other" forum is on here talking about how this forum will turn out in a couple of years.

^ Honestly, any advice Jason has to offer is advice worth taking, especially now given he has zero obligations to the "other" forum.

I take what he's saying as a compliment and a general truth. One: he's saying the forum will be around years from now with new users. Two(truth): they will ask the same questions and people will become annoyed with it. There's nothing odd about it.
