Xterra Alignment

Greetings all

i searched and found no answer so now I'll ask. Anyone have a recommendation for alignment with personal experience. Coming from Cali new to the area. Closer to Stafford if possible or just throw the recommendation out there, for a good job I'll make the drive.

I called one or two places and this is what i got, $325 and $280 in my local area cause my X is "customized no longer stock" even though its an offroad shop.

My 12 X is 2wd (yes i know, couldnt find a 4wd at the time) with
PRG UCAs
Radflo Coilovers with 650 springs
Heim tie rods
Adjustable end links

I have no recommendations for a shop out there, but I would suggest you don't tell the shops your Xterra is modified. Mine's Titan swapped and I'll take it to any regular shop for alignment, and they never balk at doing it. The only issue I can see is if you don't have the camber bolts installed, they might not be able to get a perfect alignment and they might not be willing to touch the SPC UCA to get it. Honestly, I'd just call a standard alignment shop and take it in. An alignment is an alignment, whether the vehicle is lifted or lowered, the sensors attach the same, the factory specs are the same. Those shops quoting that high of a cost are trying to get out of doing an alignment, there's nothing fancy or special about getting our lifted X's aligned. Heck, I did my own when I was in Cali because I had access to a rack on base.

First of all those prices are crazy. The X doesn't even have an adjustable rear end so they are only aligning two wheels.

I agree with RikRong there's no reason to tell them anything about it being modified, any shop can adjust toe angle which is what most people care about. Before I found a local shop that understood what cam bolts and adjustable UCA's were I just set the camber myself using a level and let the kauffman tire shop do the toe.

Honestly for all the adjustments the X has with the UCA's/Camber Bolts once those are set the only thing that needs adjusting from time to time is toe angle anyway.

I still have OE TREs but otherwise the same setup. Got the lifetime alignment at Firestone in Roanoke when it was on sale.

Have it checked about every three months.

Where in Virginia are you?

Even a dealership alignment will be $200ish max.

The problem you're going to have is that (unless something has changed since I moved away) heims are illegal on steering components per the VA state inspection setup. So really, you need a connection so someone will ignore it.

With what you have done, you're not going to be stressing stock parts. I'd swap back to TREs and get it aligned.

I am on there, yes. I actually don't live in SoCal anymore, either. I moved to North Dakota in July.
