Quick question about the factory XM radio in the Pro-4x. Any of you in the Northeast (I'm in PA) have any issues with losing reception while driving? Like music will cut out for a few seconds then come back and go back out and so on..... I'm driving alot of county roads. Not super tree covered either..... I do also drive alot of towns where this happens to.

Reason I ask is cause someone I work with has a brand new Subaru and has the same issue as me. He called Subaru and XM and they said it has something to do with the way the satellites broadcast to our vehicles. North vs. South. Sirius receivers don't appear to have this issue. Which don't help us of course.

Just curious.

This has been a problem I've seen in many different sat radios in many vehicles, all factory. I don't know why they don't have some sort of buffer built in like the old CD players with anti-skip.

Its pretty lame to have it cut out every time you drive under a bridge or obstruction.

Not sent with the stupid auto guide app

It really started happening when the leaves started on the trees. It gets to be annoying sometimes. Especially if its a good song playing....

Yes, all the time. This is by far the worst reception I have ever had with any sat. radio. My 2011 GTI, only lost reception once (that I can remember) and that was in a underground parking garage...

Also, my wife's 2013 Murano has it happen all the time as well.

Edit--- Just remembered my GTI was Sirius, guess that is why it didn't happen, and my car before that was Sirius as well...

From what the guy I work with was telling me they might attempt to switch his "XM Reciever" with a sirius one. If that can be done I would look into it for mine. When I had my old 04 X I had the Mirge radio which picked up both Sirius and XM. I never once had a problem with that one. Of course it wasn't a "built in" type though. I hope they can resolve it. I never called tech support or anything yet but I might start complaining that I am paying for a service I can't really use. Maybe they could cut us a break.

Well I cannot complain to much, I only pay $25 for 6 months of service. Call them and ask for that special, they will give it to you, especially if you tell them you want stop your service.
