Wind Deflector Seal

Is there a replacement seal for where the air deflector meets the roof? Mine seems to be deteriorated to the point where the wind blows through the small gap and makes quite a bit of noise.

I've found a couple serviceable ones at junk yards. Pick'n'Pull had a half-off everything sale two weeks ago and I picked up the whole wind deflector for a 00-01 for $4.99.

I used double stick foam tape. Remove the deflector and arms from the roof. stick the tape to the bottom of the arm. Trim it to size. poke a couple of holes for the screws. Peel the backing off, line up the screws, stick it to the roof and reassemble the whole deal. Works so far...

Nice deal on the used deflector! If you come across another in good shape I'd buy it off you for $20 plus shipping to 11238

Do you need the early 00-01 deflector or the later style?

I'm sorry, I miss understood. I’m only interested in a "Rear Wind Deflector” by Nissan in excellent condition as it’s only a backup. I believe the part number was 10346023. It has been discontinued since at least 2009

How's the double stick foam tape so far?

It just fills a gap that was left by the disintegrated rubber so it's holding up fine...
My buddy's 2001 seem having the same problem on the deflector as it has some movement last time he checked. There's where might the mystery noise his wife hearing lately. We'll take a look at it right after we finished installing the new brake kit and mud tires on his weekend toy truck project.

Will this fit my 01 X? It says it's for 02-04, but should be compatible correct? How are these attached? Do they clip on, double sided tape?

Found the one for my trucks as well, but I'm thinking the 02-04 version works better at reducing the vibration? How does this one work, just it just tape down over the edge of the deflector?

No. There was quite a bit of difference between the 00_01 and the later ones. Early ones were attached with staples through the lower edge of the deflector. Early ones just went straight across the front and did not wrap around the sides.

No staples on my 06/2000 build. I replaced with OEM part from dealer but used a little plastic epoxy and taped it tightly in place until glue cured.

any weatherstripping could work, don’t necessarily need the oem part.

I've bought two (front) air deflectors from junk yards, because mine was missing the seal, and they both had been stapled on. That was the basis for my earlier statement. I would mention, though, that if you have a sunroof, the seal was made to lay in front of the hinges. I don't think you could accomplish that with just any old rubber weather stripping. If you don't have a sunroof, it's probably a moot point.

BTW, there seem to have been two types of (front) air deflectors on the '00-'01s. There is one that has "NISSAN" molded into it, and one that has "NISSAN" as a decal. Not sure if that pertains to different years, trim levels or what, but it seems like with age, the decals tend to start peeling up.
