Winch recommendations? (Shrock bumper)

Wondering if there are any size restrictions for Winches that would mount on a Shorckworx 1st gen bumper?

Also, any recommendations on Winches for the Xterra weight? Looking for quality, but a bit overwhelmed by options!

I'd suggest a minimum 8000lbs. But the more the merrier. I can't see why there would be any size restrictions.

As far as brand, Engo is very budget minded. Beware, I had a leaky power post on mine in my old truck. The entire winch motor would fill with water when it rained. Causing a short and causing the motor to run. Not a fun situation.

I've heard good things about the Smittybilt X20 series. That's kind of middle of the range.

On the high end of course is Warn. You can drop some serious coin on a new Warn. And they're definitely nice. I don't know if they're nice enough to warrant the extra money. But that's your call.

as was said 8k or better, 9.5k is what you will find in the market place now, they have pretty much taken place of the 8k ones. With winches you get what you pay for, mostly with line speed and duty cycle. I have one of the older smitty built 8k, like old in before they offered the 9.5k or the synthetic rope old. It has never been used to recover my truck, not once, other peoples trucks, pulled some stumps out, but never my own truck.

Reply from Shrockworks, figured I'd share so other folks have some insight:

That winch [Warn VR-8] would work however my only concern is the solenoid control box on top may hit your radiator when installed.
I know it is removeable / relocatable like the warn zeon line of winches you would need to find the kit to relocate the solenoid .
I know this image shows a zeon winch https://warnindustries.files.wordpress.com/2017/01/zeon-relocation-kit.jpg?w=1360
But you will most likely need a kit similar to this if you intend on running the VR8-s.

I must say, Shrockworks has top notch customer service - I've contacted them a few times with other product questions and received a quick and informative reply every time.
