Will a 2001 Xterra Hood fit a 2003?

The hood on my 03 is pretty bad and I have found a good deal on a 2001. I did a Google search and it appears that the 01 will fit but wanted to ask you guys that are knowledgeable.

Yes, the mounts will line up but you will likely have to trim around the headlights. Only other issue would be room for the super charger if you have one

It is not the SC model but the standard SE. When you say "trim" around the headlights, what does that involve?

cutting the metal of the hood above the lights. The 1.5 lights are a different size and style than the 1.0 so the front of the hood is different between the two models. I can't be more specific because I can't think of anyone who's done it before. Seen a 1.5 on a 1.0 (no mods needed), but not the other way.

Unfortunately, I think it's more trouble than it's worth. There are curved notches above each headlight on the 1.5 hood. Those would have to b replicated on the 1.0 hood. That's a lot of time and body work.

Beat me to it. Headlights are different so the hood contour there at the end is different, sorry.
