Where To Buy Parts?

Ok gents, long story short here we go. Got my 2000 X back in 2016 and she’s been my baby ever since, and then a month ago was hit by a woman backing into me and State Farm totaled it (they’ll total these old Xs for a broken headlight pretty much), and now have a list of parts I need. Specifically a new radiator, thermo, hoses and what not, was just going to have a shop do it until they all tried to charge me 1000$+ for the job! So here I am, bought the service manual yesterday and I’m doing everything myself from here on out. Fed up with dealerships and dishonest mechanics, so my question to you all is which is the best avenue for ordering parts? I can’t let my baby die but I can’t afford to piss away a grand everytime something goes wrong either! Thanks in advance.

Rock auto is a normal go to for me. Car-part.com will search junkyards for parts as well.
My only issue with Rockauto is shipping can get you where ordering multiple parts. You have to pay for each package they send you, and it will add up real quick. car-part is pretty good, and I've had good luck with partsgeek.com as well.

Rockauto is where I'd probably start, not sure about the 1st gens but I know on 2nd gens the aftermarket thermostats usually give people problems. Don't forget to Google for a 5% off code, they're all over the place and on big orders help a lot.

I didn't realize that.. I put together a cart and remember seeing a dropdown about shipping from multiple locations but didn't pay attention to it. I'll have to make sure I don't get bombarded with shipping fees.

For body parts, look to Pick'N'Pull or some other self-service junk yard to save literally tons of money. OR, if you can get lucky like I did, you might find a non-running donor vehicle on Craigslist for a couple hundred bucks. I actually managed to find an X that was even the right color to match Wifey's X, which saved me a bundle in paint costs. Ofcourse, I had to travel 4 hours to pick it up and haul it home on a trailer, but it was still worth it.

Plus 1 on this idea too. When I built my rally car I was able to pick up a few parts cars over a year or so, stripped them of all the spares I needed, then sold off the rest to fund the rally project. So you could do the same here. Could fund that fancy bumper by selling off a few parts that you won't ever use.
