What's your favorite Greasy Spoon?... You know, the diners, drive-ins, & dives (like what Guy does) where you are sure to clog your arteries and unbutton the pants after your finished. :d

Well, I wouldn't say that this place is my ultimate favorite; but this IS the place to go to for artery clogging goodness :D...

"Burger Boy" is the name and it has been in my hometown before I was even thought of.

In East TX, the thing to have besides smoked BBQ, is Frito Pie... the goodness... :d

Frito pie, chili dog, & a strawberry shake. All I needed was bacon.

*Frito Pie: fritos corn chips, chili, onions, & cheese.

Ruth's Drive In Hartsville, SC

My dad and his brothers used to go in there after football practice when he was in school...one of the best burgers and the absolute BEST sweet tea!!

I eat there every time we go back to SC...I used to live there for a bit and ate there ALLLLL the friggin time...my softball coach HATED it, but I didn't care. It was worth the extra laps around the field.

Denver Diner. Off Colfax and Speer Blvd.

When we were out late during my repo days, we'd stop in and grab a bite to eat. Breakfast at any time, great huevos, good biscuits 'n gravy, great burgers too. Huge plates of french toast or pancakes. Plus, some of the cops would stop in and we'd BS about repo'in and stuff we'd find in the cars. Made several friends there.

Now I'm up in the hills of Colorado and don't get to eat there due to the ol' ticker and gettin' old stuff.

Don't ever get old. I don't recommend it.

Plaza caffee in Santa fe NM. could eat there everyday for the resst of my life. Green chilli on everything.

Mmm green chili, I miss having it on everything. We bring NM green chili back with us after every visit in the fall and cook with it for the rest of the year. In fact, I'm still working on some green chili turkey enchilada leftovers.

There's a fairly new place in Houma called The Duke that we have been going to a lot lately. Best hot dogs, and burgers I've ever had. And the breakfast fries: house cut french fries with white gravy with sausage in it, eggs cooked to order, bacon and cheese piled on top. It's such an artery clogger, and I don't care at all!

Simply Burger. There's four of them in the area, but that's it. Best burgers you'll ever eat and they have tots too. My Default: Burger with swiss and bbq sauce (no veggies) and tots.

Loc's Chicken & Waffles! - Savannah, GA
Chicken and Waffles. Is there really more to say?

Bobbie's Dairy Dip (Ask for the Kitchen Sink) - Nashville, TN
Classic drive up burger joint. Great burgers and amazing deserts. There's a long story to the Kitchen Sink. Its gotta be special ordered as it isn't on the menu.

Sharks - Tuscaloosa, AL
Its a little off the beaten path, but Sharks has a unique oil they cook their food chicken and seafood in. For $5, its more than enough food... and thats coming from a guy who eats a lot more food than he should.

Red's Drive In in Quanah, TX... great burgers!

I guess if I get out towards Quanah I'll have to give it a shot.

There's a place here called Richard's Cafe that has some awesome onion rings and I'm starting to think the best burger in town. This place definitely falls into the hole in the wall category. It's on the same lot as this old inn that is literally disgusting and if you didn't know this place was separate and nice inside I guarantee you'd avoid it just from looking at it.

I think a buddy and I are going to do an all out blind taste test one day with like six burger joints burgers lol.

There's a place here called Fat Daddy's and I've been there a couple of times in the last few weeks. This is the burger I've been ordering. I definitely did not eat it all!

It's loaded up with a 1/2 lb. patty, two strips of bacon, two halves of sausage links, two onion rings, a slice of habanero pepper jack cheese, jalapeno strips, and a whiskey bar b q sauce. It's epic. They bring it out skewered with a steak knife.

Wasn't this on Triple D (Diners, Driveins and Dives)? This burger looks VERY familiar

I'm going to be a Necromancer....

I'm going to give a shout out to my all time favorite greasy spoon back home in Cortland/Homer NY. Steve and Lu's diner. Absolute best breakfast you will ever have. This is an ultimate little diner. Just a small little one floor building with maybe 15 tables/booths. They don't have a website but here is the address, a trip advisor review, and their FB page for giggles.

Waffle House.

There's a local joint, Angelle's, that bought an old Waffle House and made it fancy. They serve wine. And hashbrowns in a ring. It's probably neck and neck with an actual WH.

Next would be any kinda road-side BBQ joint I can happen in to.

Since you mentioned DDD..... I enjoy the Santa Cruz Diner which was featured on the show a few years ago. This place has great breakfasts and burgers but the menu is very diverse. PHO, spring rolls, pasta dishes, steaks, fish and just about anything you can think of. Check it out when you drive into Santa Cruz on Ocean St.
