Bought this “tactical” Nylon molle seat back for my Xterra and made it into a tool box. Probably only works for someone like me that has lots of “******” tools. Was only $20 on Amazon Wrumava seat back organizer if you’re interested Has full sockets and an assortment of other old rusty tools from my garage. Perfect for the ambience of a gen 1 Xterra . Leaves room on the seat for a legless family pet like a protosalamander or suchBAF6ECA5-2264-40A5-8A80-72F33E0F21E0.jpeg

looks nice ! but can't seem to find it.. do you have link ?
I apologize I appear to have lied. I picked the other name of my Xterra saved list on the Amazon app but going back to recently purchased I seem to have bought a more expensive one. It was actually $55 dollars. And thank you for allowing me to practice for when my wife checks the credit card bill. At least I’ll be ready with some inadequate excuse

Honey, I needed to buy the more expensive one. See, it actually saved me money in the long run. All my tools are rusty, which makes them heavier, and the cheaper one just couldn't handle the weight. So it was either buy the more expensive one, or buy new tools...

Ha! I just mounted then. I had left my phone inside.

I mounted one on the rear hatch. In the flat spot on the passenger side. It has about a 1/2in gap from my drawer system.

The other I mounted over the speaker grate on the driver side in the rear. I'll take some pictures tomorrow.

Those are really nice. I like it thanks! Are they just screwed onto the plastic or did you pop it off and put something on the backside?

Thanks. I’ll be getting some of those! Great find
No problem! They were 30 bucks for the two of them. I still want some molle panels for the windows, but these will help until I get around to picking those up.

Also, got my seat backs organizer in last night.

Edit - you can also see my battery box in the background there. The side you can see is the charging side of the box.

Is that because you are tired of calling your vehicle a Jeep? So you are pretending it is a Chevy instead? ;)
Wow . That was a hurtful comment . I do admit to living in a mostly imaginary world but darn those were ugly trucks. My only question now is after I sawze all the rear off my xterra of where do I put my Avalanche sticker then?

Dang still don’t know how to do emoji’s here. All my laughing emoji’s disappeared after hurtful comment. It was a joke but now doesn’t look like one. Meisanerds comment was hysterical!

Looking for a phone mount for my 2002 xterra. Searched posts and it seems the consensus was the RAM mounts but the posts I found were from 1-2 years back. Is this still the best or does anyone have a new favorite for an older X? Thanks!

Valve covers and spark plugs along with a shower for the air filter. Then both cam position sensors. F those things. No way I would’ve wanted to do that outside the garage.
What u talkin bout Willis??? We did that in the middle of the virginia mountains in less than an hour. Wasn’t hard at all..... Granted, it took one guy with a code reader, @TheCrabby1, another with the sensor, @C3NK0, and my tools. What’s the big deal???

haven’t installed it yet, but just bought a gooseneck style ram mount. I was looking at their product page, then scrolled down to the bottom and the two parts were listed separately. Searched bot those product numbers and saved ~$25 over if I had just bought it as a complete piece.

So, my stereo died in the X last weekend while I Was doing some electrical work. Fuses all check out, there's power at the harness, and the fuse in the back of the radio checks out. That leaves the deck itself being bad.

So, I just ordered a new single din unit that is bt capable. I'll be swapping it out over the weekend.

Had oil leaking from under the cam solenoid mount yesterday and was lucky my nearby dealer had two gaskets in stock. I didn't have one handy over the weekend because the video I followed failed to mention it. $3 and about an hour later and it’s all good again.

I didn't even think about it when I did mine. Sure enough I was at the dealer the next day getting a pair of them as the old ones leaked like crazy

Thanks! Did you get the suction base? I was planning on mounting to the window as the gen 1 dash at least in 2002 has few flat spots

The last radio I installed was a Chinese android unit that I left in the Colorado when I traded it in. I don't think it followed the same color scheme, but maybe it did.

I'll be solder-sealing these wires after kiddo goes to bed.

OK. New stereo is in.

Looks like I'd blown the #18 fuse under the dash. I'd had checked the fuses I thought were associated with the radio, but after testing the new harnesses with the multimeter, and still not having any switched power, I pulled up a wiring diagram that led me to trace the green/red wire to fuse #18.

Blown.

Replaced with a jew fuse, and all is good.

Next up.... Installing the rear hitch, and adding my auxiliary backup lights on Sunday!

I had new tires installed yesterday- 235/70R16, a downsize from the factory 255's, they are 9.25" wide instead of 10" - the ride is much better, and a bit more nimble feel to the steering. The height is exactly the same at the stock tires. I'll put the $10 closeout Gabriel shocks from Rock Auto on next week- $369 for the tires, shipped from Walmart- plus $114 total, mount and balance at my go to tire shop. The old tires were made in 2011- far too old to drive on, IMO.
