What have you done for your X?

Actively in the process of installing steering wheel controls with the backlit bluetooth Pathfinder lights, with an Axxess ASWC-1. Just updated the firmware on that to 4.19 last night.

The steering controls are repinned according to directions I've found all over the internet, so hopefully the wheel itself is done, and everything past this is just in the lower 4x2 8-pin harness.

Colors line up and from some Nissan documentation I was able to see pin arrangements, hence the mix of colors/numbers. Hopefully buttoning it up tonight, just need to wire five wires.

Small stuff:
-changed out the led lights mounted in the bumper mouth
-relocated the front license plate further down the bumper down using an eBay bmw rear bracket
-swapped the sun visor bracket piece so it won’t fall out when I try to use it
-and just dropped the ORG diff cover that I picked up off FB at the powder coater

Done. For now, need to get some new hardware and switch to the Rugged Rocks shackles in the spares bin instead of these too wide NISSTEC ones.

Replaced my AC compressor. My original one was squealing and chattering away. So while I had all the belts off and crawling around underneath I decided to change out my alternator while I was at it along with both new idler pulleys. Quiet as can be now, purrs like a kitten. Also had to replace my LED back up lights I had installed earlier as they were flickering. So installed a new set that are 90w each. Then finished off by cleaning up the engine bay and rig for spring. Which took a temporary vacation this morning, but just for a few days.20200314_080654.jpg

Popped the cover on the M226 yesterday to look at the insides. Pattern looks good. Oil looks ok. Debating putting the OE cover back on and running it for couple weeks then changing the oil and slapping on the ARB cover.

Ordered and wired up an OEM off road lamp switch. It'll be used to switch on a light bar I have on order that will go into the mouth. I also ordered a flip flop relay thingamajigger that will take a simple 12V pulse to turn on the lights and use another simple 12V pulse to turn it off. It's a 5V unit, so a 12V-5V converter is on it's way to my house as well. The lamp switch will function like factory, be connected to the dimmer and the lamp on indicator will light when in use. And I won't have to have my high beams on for it to work.

I went with the OEM switch because I didn't want one ugly duckling button.

But the ugly duckling grew up to be a beautiful, vapid, asshole swan

Throw it on a charger for a bit. I top mine off every oil change. I have one of the little 2/30/60A automatic jobs from the parts store and just toss it on there after I get the front tires on stands.

I've had my battery for 3 1/2 years now. It was felling pretty slow a couple weeks ago, so I cleaned the terminals and drove a trail. Now it feels good-as-new. But things don't die here in the desert, they petrify... LOL

What battery did you get? Did you upgrade?

Got Mid Rang 650 CC.. From Local Tire dealer..
Did check Terminals, had some Acid build up. Connections were tight, & Battery was just Failing. Have seen hard to starts in Summer, as with Cold winters. Just upper end of Low volts. Never dropped to 10 volts, ( Dead Battery zone). Terminals sprayed with the Purple Goo..

New battery Amazing First Crank Fired right up this morning.

Did buy one of these Many many years. AGO.. well worth the cost and I jumped Many many cars/trucks with it. Plus Few Floating toy's for River play.

I like that antenna mount. Do you find it slaps at all when on rough ground? Been contemplating where to mount mine, the tailgate never even occurred to me.

Take a look at this video, starting at about the 2 minute mark, and watch my antenna. Shortly after this I took off the spring and things are much better now.

Thanks for this @Brunnie I have run the antenna yet. I was thinking about changing out my 4' antenna for a shorter one or a flexi one that i could tie to the roof rack.

Went down to the farm to put new front pads and rotors last weekend. Driver side got stuck and was in bad shape...

20200404_123953_1586038350586.jpeg

Was worried about the slide pins but they were fine. It was the pad ears that got stuck. Oh well, price of loaning out my truck for a few months. Those rotors might be the originals, lost some records in the move and can't remember for sure.

For the rest of the day I got to play in the forge. Made some really big nails. Mostly just cranked the blower watching my brother and son having all the fun. Planning to make some knives out of my old front coil springs next time I'm there.

Maybe some fixed blade 3.5-4.5 inch's with an X stamped in the blade. Considering where they came from you might have some taker's , at least when everyone get's back to normal !!
