I pulled my sliders and treated all the surface rust. Trimmed my fenders and sprayed the rockers with bed-liner

This weekend provided an opportunity to clean up my X, and take care of some maintenance.

For starters, I washed the X and decided to try Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic Wax.
With all-new, advanced Si02 hybrid technology, you get ceramic protection that's so easy to use, you can actually wax your paint as you rinse off your car! After washing & rinsing off the soap, simply spray on Meguiar’s Hybrid Ceramic Wax and then follow that with a second rinse with a strong stream of water. This final rinse helps to spread and lay down the wax evenly. Dry your vehicle like you would normally with a quality microfiber drying towel, like Meguiar’s Microfiber Water Magnet Drying Towel. There’s no rubbing or buffing and there’s no curing time. You’re left with ceramic protection and durability well beyond conventional wax and extreme water beading protection. Conventional? No. Sensational? Yes! It's ceramic made easy!

For the hood, I sprayed the product in place and buffed it slightly with a microfiber.
Afterwards, I moistened the full vehicle with a light mist and followed the directions in the bottle.
So far, I'm pleased with the results. This product enhanced the shine of my paint and appears to have a protective property.
For what it's worth, the moisture left on my vehicle from last nite rain was beaded nicely on the flat panels.

Next, I changed my oil with Pennzoil Platinum Full Synthetic 5w-30 and a Mobil 1 extended life filter.

58,340miles and still running strong

Only thing I've done recently was lower the tire pressure to help offset some outer edge wear on the front tires.

Haven't heard back from the guy about the 17s for the pickup...

Probably about to drop some cash for a body shop to fix roof issue with rivnuts spinning. This issue is so stupid and I wish Nissan would cover it since clearly it is a manufacturer defect.

"we don't cover roof leaks" I fought my dealer tooth and nail and got nowhere

Yeah I got you, no more modding for a while after this Gobi ladder goes on lmao. It’s weird because it feels like almost everyone who has owned an Xterra and has decided to do any type of work to the rack/roof has run in to this issue. Basically, the dealer said I should have messed with it before my 36,000 factory warranty ran up. It’s really corporate who is denying the claims for me

I was extremely lucky that all of mine came out with no issue. I put 2-part epoxy on the outside of all of them and the inside of the ones I could get to. Then I shot silicone into all the holes before I put the bolts back in. I don't think I'll ever have to remove them again, but time will tell.

Got my new kit tote in. Time to figure out how to mount my straps to the hatch as the OP decided to ditch the 1st aid kit and cut the straps.. Yea, cut. I wanted the Voodoo XL deployment bag in red but couldn't find one. This was $15 more affordable and seems to be well made, prolly not as nice as a voodoo but we're talking basic shat here~

Magnaflow 12580 installed, nice deep sounding, good so far, just a bit louder than I like when jumping on the throttle at 3k but almost quiet at fwy cruise, fits perfectly replacing that choking y-pipe. View attachment 10600View attachment 10601View attachment 10602

Give it 100-250 miles, When I first installed this muffler I thought to my self "Oh, NO! This is way too loud!" but after a week or two the carbon build up in the exhaust system quiets the muffler down quite a bit. If it's just a "bit louder than you like" it will be perfect for you once you wear it in!

I think we need some video proof of said deep loudness

I'd say its deep and loud for a v6... its definitely not the same low grumble you'd expect from a v8, but it does sound good!

Nice! I got the same muffler installed a few months ago. Definitely more of a burble. It's not a V8 by any stretch, but it's got some bite. I definitely enjoy it. Still drones a bit, apparently it's louder in the backseat but I never sit there while the car is in motion.

Put some LED reverse lights in the Xterra from the Retrofit Source. Installation was a bulb replacement, easy as can be. Put these in to improve the rearview camera visiblity at night.

Ok. Now that I have the new rear diff on, the question I have for others who did the same thing is, what did you do for the brake line that was bolted to the factory cover at the top? Leave it loose? Fab up a bracket to the top bolt location? Find a pre-made one that just happened to fit/work? I know I can set something up, just wanna hear for better ideas than mine.

I love my LED reverse lights. My wife liked them so much I got her a set for her Malibu. Huge difference!

I got the LED bug after putting in the reverse lights! After seeing that they were 25x brighter than the stock bulbs I've now got full LED interior and plan to do a LED headlight soon. I don't know about brakes or running lights as the vehicles I pull up behind with LED brake lights tend to blind me and they're for other folks to see, not me, so I don't think I'll be upgrading those..

Pulled the center part of dash to replace my usb extension port - changed from a double to a single and ran the cable for the old iPod directly to the HU. Since it lives on the second usb anyway figured it would be best to get it completely out of site of opportunist thieves.

Also cracked the plastic - anyone know of a good glue/epoxy for fixing trim pieces?

No. You need a floor jack. No one should work on a bottle jack unless it's built into a jackstand.

Oh it's on jack stands, just can't really see them in the pic. I stopped working on anything supported by only a jack years ago once I realized I wasn't invincible haha.

I'm just complaining that the bottle jack I use to lift it onto the stands is about 4" too short to get the tire off the ground so I have to carry around wood blocks to fill the gap.
