Well,
Dang Dash cam, yea get what you pay for. with China kids making cheap cameras..
Day time video & images are good.

Night time In bright City Fair in video.. not enough to be great.
Night time in Remote Dark Roads.. If its Crash with a vehicle, one can least Figure out the events.. If its Big Foot Or deer.. ZERO chance to see. Video is DARK, can not see details Other that yea It's a Road!. with white stripes and yellow Stripes and can see the Edge of the hood. Via Headlights Hi/Low beam. ( did not try the LED Pod's oops )

Bad part. dang screen stays on. Stinks for night driving. Have to manually shut screen to dark, each time.. Blah!. blah!.
Unit is warm while running.. Me think it's over charging and heating up.. since screen is off.. Going to Jell-glue American Flag as a screen cover.

Tech support is good. They respond fast.

Not gonna bother with return and just keep the dang thing.. Good for daylight driving.

Went to replace the amazon (hikari I think) headlight bulbs with the Morimoto 2stroke 3.0s. I had the drivers of the old units zip tied to the inner fender/core support area so I went to cut them off and somehow managed to commit a Knife Safety 101 failure and whacked my pinky with the blade. Got it all wrapped up and finished the job, think it is okay but will re-review tomorrow when I feel like I can unwrap it without getting blood everywhere. Sometimes I amaze even myself

I used RTV, and I had a strong guy do the final tightening, I have been checking it daily, weather permitting.
Hopefully the strong guy knew to alternate gradually tightening all the bolts and that the torque spec is only 31 ft lbs... ;) I've heard lots of people snap off those bolts even before getting up to 31.

Just finished doing leaf packs and shock skids. Now I hurt.

Gained about an inch and a half of lift, which is a bad thing. I’ll have to check, but that might make me unable to get in the garage with the RTT on. It was extremely close before. Hoping they settle down quickly.

Also debating whether to do extended brake lines because there is about nothing left here.

They will settle. Put some extra weight in the rear for a few days and ride around. Your usual camping load out should be good. IIRC you are not supposed to flex or offroad for several hundred miles till the springs break in. Something to do with setting the grain in the spring steel or something. I'd have to look it up but it seems to me that my XJ OME leaves had that info with them when I bought them. But that's been several years ago.

Good idea. I didn’t know that about the break in either. With people freaking out around here regarding gas, I probably won’t do anything off pavement for a bit and might limit travel a little.

Keep an eye on that cover. Mine kept coming loose and I eventually used blue loctite on the bolts and RTV instead of a gasket.

RTV here too... Don't tighten those bolts more than a 1/2 turn past snug. Terry, you are the only one I've ever heard that had that issue.

I've actually had several people say they had the same issue. I think mine was a combination of the mag-hytec "lube locker" gasket collapsing and the clear coat under the bolt heads deteriorating.

It was dry the last time I checked it so the RTV and Loctite are doing their jobs.

I've been in dozens of axles in my life and this is the only cover I've ever had leak like this.... And typically I just use a gasket with no RTV....

I couldn't take the sight of that chrome Nissan Patrol badge anymore so I got some model paint and a couple tiny brush's and went to town . Probably would've been better sprayed and taped but that'd been a pain in the a$$ with all the nook's and crannie's !! o_O20210513_174157.jpg

Looks good! Though you won’t be as easy to spot in the rear view haha.

I installed a subtle cosmetic accessory today:

Replaced the caliper pins on the fronts last night. The bottom pin of both were stuck and couldn’t compress fully. There was still a bit of a catch with the new one, and using pipe cleaners and about half a can of brake cleaner I still couldn’t get it all. It’s better for now but I ordered caliper brackets. Not available locally.

Told you. Leave the rubbers off. It's a stupid design. Now that I'm thinking about it. Get new pins and run two upper pins.

You mean the rubber on the shaft, right? What was Nissan’s intent with that? Just to slow down the compression rate?

Yeah. That. I've never seen anything like it before. And it's crap. I left them off of the Titan calipers. Now that I'm thinking about it I'm going to order another set of pins so I can have matching ones.
