What have you done for your X?

Meh
Just finished about 100 tiny paint touch ups from stone chips or pinhole rust. Used some duplicolor QM1 paint so it should at least be close. But I suck at painting so I'll be happy if I keep the rust at bay long enough to save up for a full respray at a good shop.

And ordered a complete exhaust for a pathfinder that you can poke holes in with your finger. Good practice for when I replace my swiss cheese exhaust in a few weeks.

What a crazy easy job...replaced the driver's window motor

Nice, good to know! Mine were kinda slow until I put WeatherTech in-channel visors on and now both fronts are blue hair speed.. I've been told to use a graphite spray lube but never have gotten around to doing it~

It's less than a 30 minute job, less if you have a second set of hands to hold the window...I used painters tape

What have I done for my X, lately? Not much I hate to say but I've got endless hp just sitting in a box in my living room, waiting..

I'm bored, on lunch, eating pizza and figured I'd write it down in XN public to get me moving on this growing to do list.
Work, life and health reasons I just haven't had the time or energy to get out and do this stuff. So..

Before I became an XN member I had heard about the rear diff breather and bought the OG kit with filter hose and fittings $$. Oh well. I got an outlet to replace a cigg lighter spot with 2 quick charge USB's and a voltage meter. It came with a good length of thick wire and ring terminals so I'm going to go through the firewall. I figure I'd better get all my wiring that I may need, with future add-on's, etc. and run it and just leave it tied up until I need it. I've got an LED fanless headlight kit that was supposed to be plug n play but I'm still emailing them back and forth trying to figure out what adapter or pssh whatever... Ugh. I replaced my reverse lights to bright LED but still have the 8k interior LED set to install. In that same box is my new President Andy CB, Firestik's door jamb mount with 18' of coax along with a blk 4' Firefly. I read a lot about mounts and decided on that one but after reading a post here I think I'm second guessing screwing into the metal with it prone to wallering out per say due to angles and am torn. I like the k400 I think it is but 80$ more when I plan to get my HAM study'n and test'n soon... Ugh. I've got aftermarket fog lights kit with harness and switch and bought some 5800lm 3500k amber bulbs to replace what came with 'em.. I'm running totally stock suspension, I think, and just bought off tnx a set of 5100's and some Nisstec spacers. Got a 20% coopin' and free shipping so I got a 2" set of shackles from Supreme Suspensions. I impulse bought a lot of this crap after becoming an Amazon Prime sucker and a few bourbons so I need to go back and read some threads about suspension to see if what I have will work and/or if I'll need anything else to get a cpl inches until I can do the whole thing.. Bought a shovel and an axe so I've gotta figure out a mounting solution for those. Not sure.. I kinda wanna put them on the hatch as now that I've got McMaster 175lb shocks on there, wow. Makes me think I need a ladder and roof basket now...hmm..

Holy Crap that's a lot of shti.. Maybe now that it's in print and I've re read it I'll get to moving a little faster.

I like lists. I have check lists on my phone for my projects so I can track what i'm getting done and what I have to do.

As for antenna mounts, I've never seen someone drop extra $$ on a nicer one and regret it.

Sounds like you've got a good start to a lift. Those extended shackles will allow your springs to invert, so you need to look into Frontier P4X 4600 Bils for the rear for the added length and bump stop extensions to prevent the inversion which can lead to premature sagging.

It also looks like we need a 2nd Gen how-to on the breather extension installation. So you might take some good pictures and write it up!

So the 5100's I just got NIB aren't going to work? I got them and the slightly used nisstec spacers together and bought the shackles later. Is it because of the shackles that the 5100's won't work? I guess I've got some more reading to do~

Would you suggest doing a u-bolt flip while I'm down there? I still have zero armor underneath but plan on piecing a full kit together eventually.

5100s are for the front, you need longer rear shocks as well if you lift or you don't gain any down travel in the back where 70% of your flex comes from with this platform.

Or did you get rear shocks as well? 5100 usually refers to just the front. The rear 51 series are generally referred to as 5125s. Pedantic? Maybe, but it helps us mentally sort what you're talking about.

Also, what size spacer did you get?

I'm not entirely sure I'd spend the money with OE springs. I'd wait until you decided to upgrade later on. But that's my opinion. I jumped in pretty deep. Going from bone stock all the way to +3" +500lb Alcans with the PRG flip kit out of the gate instead of stair stepping my way up.

I had a pretty clear idea of what I wanted out of the Xterra in the end after doing a fair bit of reading and with good advice from a lot of the guys around here.

Start a build thread and let's discuss what you're trying to achieve with your X there!

I took her for a spin around the block.

That was my first time on Mashed Potatoes. That's a hell of a trail, super fun.

Mashed potatoes is just a kick in the pants. It is included in the "Bartlett Overlook" trail during Gone Moab. Basically what you did, except turn left after Mashed Potatoes.

They make 5100’s for the back too.

5100 just means they are model specific. 5125 is generic.

Added this many years ago.. for the X.. keep pistol, gas cards, CC, cash.. Etc.. was posted on the Cough cough other sinking Site..

Thought I'd share Sorry dark photo.. Safe is both key pad & Manual Real key Costco $99.00. Doubt they even list it anymore?. The thing is Bolted to frame. Once seat slides back It's hidden. Nice & Secure.

Battery, I change out every year.. regardless.. They tend to leak acid! after 6 months.

Hope photo posts okay?. tad dark.. but yea get the idea..

Nice about the Xterra does has lots of hiding places..

I was thinking about something like this for mine recently. I'll have to look into it. I think my SIL has a Costco membership...

I pulled my sliders and treated all the surface rust. Trimmed my fenders and sprayed the rockers with bed-liner
